A 'Stranger's' of Southampton advertising jug by J. Clifton Cottle of London the stepped, oval section jug with angular handle, gilt lined rim and dark blue underglaze lettering, 'Drink only Stranger's Prize Medal Best Quality Minerals', black printed factory mark and moulded reg. des. no., 5 5/8in. (14.2cm.) high; together with three circular lithographed aluminium 'Player's Please' advertising drinks trays, 12 3/8in. (31.5cm.) diameter, one with some corrosion to surface around rim. (4) * Jug: Gilt wear. Glaze crazing to base inside. - Trays: One in good condition, with some wear / corrosion spots to surface to rim edge, a small scratch to rim and a 2in. scratch to yellow ground near centre. One with a number of scratches around the centre of the tray and some wear/corrosion spots to rim edge and three corrosion spots around the 'Player's Please' logo. The third with with some patches of surface corrosion/rust marks to rim and just below rim.

Hudson & Co., Birmingham. Note: 88290 Major Denis Brian Bingham Vickerman, Royal Corps of Signals, H.Q. 46 Div. Sigs, the son of Frank Leslie and Constance Mary Vickerman, of Dun Laughaire, Co. Dublin, Irish Republic, died on 18th August 1943, aged 21 years old. He is buried with honour at El Alia Cemetery, Algeria.

Ernest Race (British designer 1913-64), DA2 upholstered armchair with painted metal legs, width 65cm, height 72cm; also a BA side chair with fabric upholstered seat and pad back, on cast aluminium frame and legs, original paper label and registered design no. 848794 (2)NB: Between 1945 and 1964 over 250,000 BA chairs were produced using resmelted wartime scrap aluminium. Medals of brothers, Captain Claude Henry Slade Vaudrey and Captain Norman Vaudrey, to include The Queen's South Africa Medal having South Africa 1902, Orange Free State and Cape Colony clasps, inscribed 'Lieut: C. H. S. VAUDREY. Manch: Regt:' along with miniature, WWI medals to include British War Medal, Victory and 1914-15 Star awarded to 'CAPT . N. VAUDREY', housed in display, with Memorial Scroll named to "Temp:Captain Norman Vaudrey Manchester Regiment", along with a group of framed and unframed photographs and a brown leather suitcase embossed to top 'CAPT. VAUDREY ASST . DIST. COMMR. SIERRA LEONE'Claude Henry Slade Vaudrey (3rd June 1882 - 2nd May 1916), elder son of Sir William Vaudrey and Lady Eleanor Slade, (Sir William Vaudrey served as Mayor of Manchester 1898-1899), Claude H. S. Vaudrey qualified as a solicitor but went on to join the army being gazetted to the 6th Battalion of the Manchester Regiment in 1900, having served in the Boer/South African War in 1902 he went on to become Assistant Colonial Secretary in Sierra Leone, by February 1915 he was lent to The War Office and attached to the 3rd Battalion Manchesters at Cleethorpes, in August joined the 1st Manchesters in France and went with the Battalion to Mesopotamia in November. After taking part in several engagements in the attempts to revive Kut he died of Cholera on the 2nd of May 1916 aged 33. Norman Vaudrey was a civil engineer, in 1914 he obtained a commission in the 17th Manchesters and went with them to The Front in France in November 1915. He was in command of the 2nd Company in the advance on Montauban. He was shot and died while leading his men on the 1st of July 1916 aged 32. His Colonel, who was wounded on the 1st of July wrote from Hospital "Your son Norman was a most excellent officer. He knew his work well. I could always rely on him."
