Three Inuit models of kayaks with figures Greenland wood, skin and bone, two of the figures with inset eyes, the other with goggles, the kayaks with harpoon rests, harpoons, paddles and two with bladders, 55cm, 63.5cm and 65cm long. Provenance Polar Explorer Lieutenant Commander Quintin Riley (1905 - 1980) and thence by descent. An entry in Riley's diary for Friday March 31st 1933 states 'Kidaze brought me my model kayak' in return for a vest of Gion's and a pair of QR's (old) trousers. Various gold jewellery, including 15ct turquoise and pearl ring (A/F), 15ct amethyst and pearl brooch, etc, 12.1g total, (4) Turquoise ring is broken on shank and generally poor condition. Amethyst brooch just missing one pearl, otherwise very good condition with 18ct topped settings, length 51.5mm. French gold sapphire ring is missing one stone, quite surface scratched, size M. 9ct medal in good condition with winner's engraving on reverse, marks clear.
An Edwardian 15ct rose gold competition medal, from Otley Golf Club 1908, with blue enamel decoration, maker's marks F and S, hallmarks Birmingham 1907, height 36.5mm, 14.6g Good overall original condition, some losses to edge of enamel and general abrasions, setting high points are quite rubbed and surface scratched, inscription on back is lightly rubbed and surface scratched all over, marks clear, stamped 15
