A Queen Victoria campaign medal group Awarded to 1st Class Assistant Surgeon Joseph Brandon (b. 7th December 1857) comprising Afghanistan medal (1878-80), China War medal 1900, George V silver Durbar medal dated 1911, George V MBE (hallmarked 1918), also with this lot a copy of a photograph of Joseph Brandon. (illustrated) Joseph Brandon as Assistant Surgeon went to China with the Expeditionary Force in 1900, he then remarried in 1904 to Helen Gladys Phyllis Millett. He was promoted to Senior Assistant Surgeon (ie. Captain) in 1907.
Stunning 9ct Gold fully hallmarked Order of the Royal Buffaloes medal, Presented to Bro.S.T.Thornton by Lodge number 3027 on the 2/5/1930, the medal also has three 9ct gold hallmarked Bars dating from 1922 - 1930, the bottom 9ct gold part weighs 20.79 Grams and with the bars and ribbon 28.64 Grams
Great Western Railway 150th Anniversary Celebrations Boxed Medal Set by the Royal Mint. Issued in 1985, this set is of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Medallions, one of only 25 issued as a full set as the accompanying leaflet shows. The gold Medallion weighs 195 grams and is 9ct, the silver Medallion weighs 150 grams and is .925 silver. Housed in a leatherette box with logo on top lid. In excellent condition throughout although the silver medallion is slightly tarnished.
