Following his South African service Bond became Assistant House Surgeon at Shropshire Infirmary before becoming Senior Registrar at Royal Free Hospital then to King's College Hospital where he served under Joseph Lister. At the outbreak of WW1 he was re-employed as A.D.M.S. at home. The lot is offered with supporting documents and a black and white photograph.

Lt Col Eric Wilson VC (1912 - 2008) signed Christmas 1914 Truce in the Trenches cover. Wilson won the Victoria Cross in 1940 in Somaliland with the East Surrey Regiment of the British Army. At the time of his death in 2008 Wilson was the last surviving British Army recipient of the Victoria Cross from WWII.
