1947 Pattern The Kings Regiment 40th Division Korean War Veterans Battle Dress Blouse, interesting battle dress with embroidered regimental shoulder title above embroidered Lancastrian Training Brigade and 40th division formation signs to both arms. Corporals rank chevrons to the arms. Above the breast pocket are medal ribbons for Korean war service. 1949 dated label to the interior of the battle dress.

Selection of Great War Casualty Medals, consisting of 1914-15 star awarded to “159703 C E S STEER A B R.N”, British War medal awarded to “L8027 W J ARGENT O S 2 R.N”, Allied Victory medal awarded to “202174 PTE F SOUTHWELL W RID R” and Allied Victory medal awarded to “52848 GNR J SWEET RA”. Various conditions. (4 items) Able Seaman Charles Ernest Samuel Steer was killed on 1st November 1914 serving on board HMS Monmouth during the Battle of Coronel. Officers Steward 2nd Class William John Argent was killed on 2nd October 1917 when serving on board HMS Brisk which struck a mine laid by U-79 off Bull Point County Antrim causing 32 casualties. Private Fred Southwell was killed on 25th August 1918 whilst serving with the 9th Battalion Duke of Wellingtons West Riding Regiment. Gunner Joseph Sweet was killed on 2nd October 1917 whilst serving with the 25th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery.

Medals are complete with ribbons, bronze MID oak leaf mounted to Victory medal ribbon. Accompanied by flattened original card forwarding box. His MIC card states later service with the Labour Corps, we have not been able to confirm the MID.

Framed Great War Medal Pair and Bronze Memorial Plaque, the medals consist of British War medal and Allied Victory medals awarded to “53841 PTE B W WILSON M.G.C”, bronze memorial plaque awarded to “FRANK MORLEY”. Mounted into a glazed wooden frame with a Machine Gun Corps cap badge, Suffolk regiment cap badge and a photograph of a WW1 soldier in the Suffolk regiment. Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists multiple casualties with the name Frank Morley.

Edward VII Long Service Volunteer Force Medal 1st Volunteer Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, medal was awarded to “3748 SJT J H ROTHWELL 1/VB LANC FUS”. Medal has nice dark patina, no ribbon. Commonwealth War Graves Commission lists a Private J H Rothwell of the Lancashire Fusiliers being a casualty in 1918, we have not been able to ascertain if this is the same individual.
Husband and Wife World War Two Medal Grouping, being the awards of Major N K V Bowater Royal Army Service Corps, consisting of 1939-45 star, Africa star, Italy star, Defence medal and War medal with MID bronze oak leaf housed in OHMS box; Wife Sister J Bowater PMRAFNS (Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service) consisting of 1939-45 star, Italy star, defence medal and war medal housed in Air Ministry issue box with forwarding slip, accompanying the medals are two sets of miniature medals, various badges and rank insignia, dog tags and medal ribbon bars, also accompanied by a bullion shipping line badge having bullion wreath with embroidered black eagle to centre flag.
Modern Issue Royal Air Force Musicians Dress Uniform, with anodised Queens Crown tunic buttons, Bullion Eagle and Crown collar badges, to the arm bullion rank insignia and Musicians qualifications badges, twist cord large shoulder boards, and RAF long service medal ribbon to breast, accompanied by the matching trousers. Set remains in very good overall condition.

Collar has kings crown gilt metal regimental collar badges. Above the breast pocket are medal ribbons for MBE, Military Cross and WW2 campaign medals. 1954 dated label to the interior of the tunic.
