Victory Medal to 436538 Sjt T Heaps C.G.A. Awarded the Military Medal 22/7/1916 with 49th Bn att. T.M.Bty. 'Great gallantry and devotion to duty June 2nd 1916. Pte Heaps alone remained unwounded of the crew of one of the guns C.3.X.Bty. He served the gun alone until all the available ammunition was exhausted. Then, when the enemy were again upon him, he seized a rifle and joined with the Infantry in repelling the attack. He remained with the Infantry for a further 24 hours acting as a stretcher bearer'. Killed In Action with 3rd Div Trench Mortar Bty Canadian Field Artillery 30/3/1918.
