* Hanriot. Louis Wagner. A rare early 20th c. autographed photograph, c. 1910, having signed dedication in black ink, and depicting the subject beside his aeroplane with team mechanics, together with a unique manuscript letter from Avions Hanriot to Wagner praising him and his comrade for their recent exploits and achievements in aviation events possibly as a result of his winning the event at Budapest (unstated), and proclaiming the award to him of a special medal in commemoration "en souvenir de vos memorable exploits et triomphes et notre temoinage de cordial admiration", two pages signed and dated 21st June 1910, together with a typescript text copy, and contemporary newsprint clipping of the same letter published by the Press at the time of the event (4)
Uniforms. Three air force uniform jackets, all late 20th century, including an RAF great coat, a Royal Canadian air force dress jacket with Canadian epaulette `wings` on each shoulder, one medal ribbon and corporal `stripes` to both sleeves and a late 20th century Royal air force flying jacket extensively decorated with squadron badges including the 28th `Pegasus` squadron, the 10th & 24th squadron and the 8th & 9th squadron. The 28th Squadron is a helicopter squadron flying Merlins out of RAF Benson and was the first Merlin squadron to be deployed to Bosnia. The 10th squadron was a transport squardron that was disbanded in 2005 after serving in the Iraq war of 2003. (3)
A group of eight medals to Wing Commander BE Peck DFC 40481, comprising DFC, 1939-1945 War Medal, Atlantic Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal, General Service with oak leaf, Palastine with 1945-48 clasp and Coronation Medal, also six Royal AirForce Pilot`s flying log Books for BE Peck and a list of information about the career of Wing Commander Peck (Illustrated). Wing Commander Peck was awarded the DFC in March 1944 for destroying enemy u-boat 470 whilst escorting a convoy of 62 merchant ships in Mid-Atlantic.
A Victorian 18ct gold and diamond set three stone ring, mounted with cushion shaped diamonds, Chester 1895, a 9ct gold decorated wedding ring, an 18ct gold mounted oval pendant locket brooch designed as the portrait of a lady, with a 9ct gold neckchain on a boltring clasp, and a silver gilt fob medal, Birmingham 1899.
Carrington (R.C.). Nine Draft Maps, (printed by the Anastatic process) containing all the stars above the eleventh magnitude situated within nine degrees of the North Pole, laid down for the year 1855, single sheet of explanation with the address of Redhill Observatory, plus all nine maps with handwritten notes contained in printed sleeve with presentation to M. Johnson, some spotting, ex-lib. with ink lib. stamps to sleeve and explanation leaf, together with ten loose charts being Mr. Carrington`s Circumpolar Charts for 1855, some soiling and marginal creasing and fraying, ink lib. stamp to upper margin of first map, oblong folio. Manuel John Johnson (1805-59) was the Radcliffe Observer (1839-59), was awarded the RAS gold medal and was president of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1857-58. (2)
