Andrew Maclaren (b.1941) "Portrait Study" Signed, pencil, 30.5cm by 30.5cm Born in London, Andrew Maclaren studied at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. In 1964 he graduated from the Royal College of Art with a 1st class degree and the RCA Silver Medal for work with special distinction. A year later, he was appointed lecturer of Fine Art at Newcastle University, where he then became head of painting until he retired in 1993.
