British Army WW1 Military Cross medal group comprising Military Cross, 1914/1915 Star named to 537 Gunner A C Kingham HAC (Honourable Artillery Company), War Medal and Victory Medal both named to Lieut A C Kingham. Medals mounted by Spink & Son, Piccadilly, together with his Military Cross citation and framed photograph. The citation reads 'Lieutenant Arthur Colin Kingham, Royal Field Artillery (Spec. Res) attached 6th Battery. For conspicuous gallantry when on duty as forward observation officer at Rumilly on October 1st, 1918. On entering the village he found that our infantry had been outflanked on the left, and went forward beyond our line with a signaller to find out the situation. He came in contact with a party of 30 enemy and engaged them at less than 50 yards, causing them casualties. WW1 two personal photograph albums compiled by Lieutenant A C Kingham, HAC, the first depicting his time and experiences on the Western Front including horse drawn procession of the march to Bethune, Sergeant Stockdale MM, before and after of a bombed building, the church and trenches at Hinges, captured Huns, English tank captured by Boch, anti-aircraft guns, dead horses and soldiers, captured guns, aerial photographs of Passchendaele, Lieut General Sir Aylmer Haldane inspecting the battery, men going home under Rotterdam bridge with crowds looking on etc. Over 50 photographs, most hitherto unpublished, together with more than 60 negatives. The second album includes many photographs of field guns, trenches, horse jumping, troop ships, the unloading of horses, Middle Eastern and Egyptian scenes, Indian regimental machine gunners, trains, ships, R&R, flying boats in flight, tribesmen etc, approximately 350 in all.See lot 1054 in this sale for Lieut Kingham's Military Cross medal group
A WWI group of four medals, WWI trio awarded to lieutenant W Hall, the 1914-15 Star awarded to Lance Corporal W.Hall 13103 Lancashire Fusiliers, also a Military Medal 'For Bravery in the Field', awarded to Lance Sergeant W Hall, 2 Lancs Fus, 13103, together with a photo of William Hall. William Hall joined the army underage, received a field commission, served with Black Watch, ending his career with the Royal Flying Corp, he later died just before re-joining to serve in WWII when a lodged bullet from WWI moved. CONDITION REPORT Photograph inscribed verso 'My Father William Hall Junior'
