Received gunshot wounds to the lower back and right thigh on 5th August 1917. Medically evacuated to United Kingdom on 10th August 19178. Transferred to the Reserve on 23rd February 1919.

Retired from the Light Infantry on 27th January 1980.

Evans R.N. 1939-1945 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star, Burma Star, Defence Medal 1939-1945, War Medal 1939-1945, and Long Service & Good Conduct Medal. His LS&GC is engraved 'HMS Fulmar'. A location better known as Lossiemouth, the Royal Naval Air Station title came into being on 7th July 1946 after the Royal Air Force ceded ownership the week before. It became the home of operational flying training during the Cold War for pilots and aircrew of the Aircraft Carrier squadrons of the Fleet Air Arm (FAA).

Medals (3) of 23435 (61580) Private Arthur William Buckingham R.A.F. 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal 1914-1920, and Allied Victory Medal 1914-1918. Enlisted on 27th December 1914 into the Welsh Regiment, he landed in France on 4th December 1915. Wounded on 21st July 1916, he was medically evacuated and, on recovery, transferred to the Royal Flying Corps, joining 4 Squadron R.F.C. on 6th February 1917. He joined 42 Squadron R.F.C. on 23rd March 1918, later to be renamed 42 Squadron R.A.F. Recorded as serving as a pilot's batman.

British War Medal 1914-1920 of M2-229848 Private Leonard Benstead A.S.C.Served as an Electrician with the Army Service Corps section attached to 289th Siege Battery RGA responsible for the movement of their 6-inch 26 cwt howitzers. Admitted on 14th June 1917 to 139th Field Ambulance RAMC and from there on 26th June 1917 aboard the 31st Ambulance Train RAMC with rheumatism and medically evacuated to Boulogne.

Attested in Newcastle on 14th August 1914 for service as a Driver with 169th Brigade Royal Field Artillery (RFA). Transferred to D (Howitzer) Battery, 53rd Brigade RFA. Landed in France on 11th May 1915. Posted to the 8th Division Ammunition Column on 10th January 1917 and with whom he subsequently volunteered for service with the Divisional Trench Mortars 'The Suicide Club'.  He joined Y/8 Trench Mortar Battery on 1st February 1918. He was awarded home leave on 24th September 1918, and he returned to his unit on 9th October 1918. The award of his Military Medal was published in the London Gazette on 21st October 1918.

Appointed Temporary Lieutenant 8th February 1916. Served with the 2nd Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment. Attached to the Training Reserve from 3rd March 1917 until 4th April 1917. Died of his wounds on 5th June 1918 and was buried in Marfaux British Cemetery.
