Geburtstag entworfene Bronzemedaille des Instituts für Physik/Chemie der Universität Halle (Durchmesser 100 mm, Künstlersignatur "GL" für Gerhard Lichtenfeld) und eine Meissen-Porzellanmedaille der Leopoldina 1977. Meist im Originaletui. Trage- und Altersspuren. Einzigartiger Nachlass in guter Erhaltung.Franz Sauerwald - ein Pionier der Pulvermetallurgie - wurde 1894 in Berlin geboren, studierte Chemie und war erst Privatdozent für Metallurgie und Hüttenwesen und 1926 außerordentlicher Professor. In den 1930/40er Jahren arbeitete er im Bitterfelder Werk der IG Farben und leitete dort die Forschungsabteilung. 1946 wurde er ordentlicher Professor für Physikalische Chemie an der Universität Halle/Saale und 1963 dort emeritiert. 1979 starb er in Halle. Ab 1953 war er Mitglied der Leopoldina und 1958 erhielt er den Nationalpreis der DDR in der frühen, wertigen Ausführung. Predominantly with original cases. Signs of age and wear. Unique collection in good condition.Franz Sauerwald – a pioneer in the field of powder metallurgy – was born in Berlin in 1894, studied chemistry, and became a private lecturer for mining and metallurgy before his appointment to associate professor in 1926. In the 1930s/40s he worked in the Bitterfelder Werk of IG Farben and was the director of the research department there. In 1946 he became associate professor for physical chemistry at the University of Halle/Saale and retired in 1963. He passed away in Halle in 1979. In 1953 he became a member of the Leopoldina, and in 1958 he received an early, high-quality version of the national prize of the German Democratic Republic.Condition: II
