British War Medal 1914-1920 of T-36801 Driver Alfred Comber A.S.C. To be sold with photocopy papers.Native of Horley, Surrey. Enlisted in Guildford on 16th March 1915. Landed in Gallipoli on 22nd November 1915 with 108th Company A.S.C in charge of two mules. Seved in M.E.F. until 21st December 1916. Returned to United Kingdom and served with 1121st Auxiliary Heavy Transport Company A.S.C. at Southend-on-Sea. Discharged from the effects of Malaria 17th June 1919.

Retired from the Light Infantry on 27th January 1980.

He later transferred to the 700th Company, Labour Corps. Discharged on 3rd March 1919.

Admitted on 14th June 1917 to 139th Field Ambulance RAMC and from there on 26th June 1917 aboard the 31st Ambulance Train RAMC with rheumatism and medically evacuated to Boulogne.
Medals (4) of 82304 Bombardier James Spalding M.M. R.F.A. Military Medal GV, 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal 1914-1920, and Allied Victory Medal 1914-1918. A resident of Sacriston, Durham, employed as a coal miner. Attested in Newcastle on 14th August 1914 for service as a Driver with 169th Brigade Royal Field Artillery (RFA). Transferred to D (Howitzer) Battery, 53rd Brigade RFA. Landed in France on 11th May 1915. Posted to the 8th Division Ammunition Column on 10th January 1917 and with whom he subsequently volunteered for service with the Divisional Trench Mortars 'The Suicide Club'. He joined Y/8 Trench Mortar Battery on 1st February 1918. He was awarded home leave on 24th September 1918, and he returned to his unit on 9th October 1918. The award of his Military Medal was published in the London Gazette on 21st October 1918.

Attached to the Training Reserve from 3rd March 1917 until 4th April 1917. Died of his wounds on 5th June 1918 and was buried in Marfaux British Cemetery.

Killed in action on 14th February 1915 whilst serving with 2nd Battalion, East Surrey Regiment.

Mobilised on 10th October 1917 and posted to 23rd Reserve Training Battalion, then posted to France in April 1918 to join A Company, 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment. Admitted to the 10th Casualty Clearing Station on 22nd October 1918 with gunshot wounds to the right wrist and left forearm (amputating little finger), fractures and loss of movement. Discharged as no longer physically fit for service on 19th December 1919.
