A Great War 1914-15 trio of medals to the Royal Field Artillery. 1914-15 Star medal, “L-3068 A. BOMBR: H. STOWELL. R.F.A.” British War and Victory medals, “L-3068 A. BOMBR. H. STOWELL R.A.” Henry Stowell from Leigh, Lancashire served in France from 18th November 1915 and was discharged as unfit for further service due to illness (dyspepsia aggravated by service) on 7th February 1918 and was issued with a Silver War Badge.
An Interesting Triplicate Issue Great War 1914 Star Medal Trio Royal West Kent Regiment. 1914 Star medal with clasp, British War and Victory medals, all impressed “L/8198 PTE. W.J. VIDLER R.W. KENT R. (TRIPLICATE)”, group mounted as worn. Originally from Greenwich, William John Vidler served in France from 15th August 1914, he later served with the Machine Gun Corps with service number 62351. His Medal Index Card indicates that his medals were replaced on 10th March 1965 whist he was a Chelsea Pensioner, but we have been unable to identify the other occasion when they were replaced. It is unusual to see medals triplicate issue medals.
WW1 British August 1917 Killed in Action Medal Pair Royal Berkshire Regiment, British War and Victory medals, “202377 PTE. C. EALES R. BERKS R.” Charles Eales served with 2/4th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment, his place of residence as listed as Broadmoor Asylum, Berkshire although we have not been able to confirm in what capacity he was in this establishment. He was and killed in action on 22nd August 1917 and is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.

Gordon Parks (1912-2006) was an American photographer, filmmaker, writer, and composer. He was born on November 30, 1912, in Fort Scott, Kansas. Parks is best known for his powerful and influential work documenting social issues, particularly focusing on the African American experience. Parks began his career as a photographer in the 1930s, working for the Farm Security Administration (FSA) during the Great Depression. He captured images that depicted the struggles of impoverished Americans, including those affected by the Dust Bowl and racial segregation.In the 1940s, Parks became the first African American photographer for Life magazine, where he continued to cover a wide range of subjects, including fashion, sports, and social issues. One of his most famous photo essays for Life was "The Harlem Gang Leader" (1948), which documented the life of a young gang leader named Red Jackson. Parks also made a significant impact as a documentary filmmaker. In 1969, he directed the film "The Learning Tree," based on his own semi-autobiographical novel. This made him the first African American to direct a major Hollywood studio production. He went on to direct other films, including "Shaft" (1971), a popular and influential blaxploitation film. Throughout his career, Parks used his art to address social injustice and advocate for civil rights. He aimed to shed light on the human condition and challenge racial stereotypes through his photography and films. Parks' work continues to inspire and influence generations of artists, photographers, and filmmakers. In recognition of his contributions, Gordon Parks received numerous awards, including the National Medal of Arts in 1988. Estate of Jeremy Bulloch - Star Wars - Bulloch's personally owned vintage 1980 Empire Strikes Back ' Medal ' by W. Berrie & Co. Featuring an enamel Boba Fett themed badge with dangling name tag. One of the earliest pieces of Boba Fett specific merchandise made. Boxed, as new. As displayed in Bulloch's home museum. All lots from the estate of Jeremy Bulloch come with a special certificate signed by Maureen Bulloch, confirming the lots were from his personal collection. The majority of the items were displayed in his home museum for several years. Part of the proceeds of this lot will be donated to Parkinson's UK (Charity 258197)
