A Silver medal winning 3 1/2 inch gauge model of a 2-6-4 LMS side tank locomotive, No.2435 , built by Mr Peter Hissey of Middlesex with brazed copper boiler, with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, whistle, clack valves and blow down plug, lever operated firebox doors, chassis details include twin outside cylinders, 1 1/8 inch bore by 1 5/8 inch stroke, Walschaert's valve gear, fluted motion, oiling chambers, cylinder drain cocks and associated pipework, mechanical lubricator, eccentric driven feed pump, bypass, fitted steps and handrails, couplings, vacuum hoses, lamp irons and lamps. The model finished in LMS maroon and black lined livery with polished brightwork, Length 92cm. Cab width 19cm. Comes complete with a wooden transportation case. Boiler History: Past boiler test certificate issued by Harlington Locomotive Society. Working pressure 90 psi. Hydraulic test pressure 120 psi. Expired 28th of April 1993. No 23825. Awards: This locomotive won a silver medal at The Model Engineering Exhibition Wembley in 1982. Medal retained by the Mr P Hissey s family. The model has been extensively used since that time.

An interesting trio of WWII medals attributable to a 'Dambusters' recipient 1386420 Flight Sergeant T Maynard R.A.F.V.R. comprising 1939/45 Star; Air Crew Europe Star; 1939/45 British War Medal to/w the recipients posthumous OHMS medal awards slip, all unmounted/unworn. Notes: 1386420 Thomas William Maynard 617 Squadron, front gunner Lancaster AJ-H 'Harry' - 'The Dam Busters' mission, aircraft clipped the sea off the Dutch coast and returned home. Maynard later K-I-A 20/12/43 after being hit by flak over Belgium.

Charles I, a gilt electrotype copy of The Juxon medal, the unique pattern five broad piece by Thomas Rawlins, bust l., hair over lace collar, rev. crowned and garnished oval shield, 39mm. (MI.374/270; W&R.18, annotated 'probably by Abraham Vanderdort'), good very fine The original, now in the British Musuem, is the medal said to have been given to Archbishop Juxon by Charles I, when on the scaffold just prior to his execution. This piece is sold with a copy of the Spink Numismatic Circular, July/August 1988, in which the medal is discussed in an article by E. R. Nutbourne.

(Puddester 888.2), in original red leatherette box, brilliant uncirculated and extremely rare Lansdowne, formally Governor General in Canada, chose to retain the same design for his presentation medal after his appointment to India. The medal was probably struck in London by Pinches. In a plastic holder and graded by PCGS as Specimen 64.

Scotland, Forres Academy, struck silver prize medal, 1866, with engraved details: 'The gift of an old pupil - to George Ross Mackessack - best English essayist', 44.5mm; other silver medals (2): Coronation 1902; N.I.R.A shooting prize (Lieut. K. Mackessack); bronze medal of Johann Strauss and an Elgin County Special Constable's badge, numbered 85, generally very fine (5) George Ross Mackessack was born in 1851, served in the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, married 1901, later became a J.P. The shooting medal is to his son, Kenneth who was educated at Rugby, joined the Seaforth Highlanders from Sandhurst in 1923, and served in India, North West Frontier 1930-31, Palestine, Middle East and North Africa. He commanded the 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders as Lieutenant-Colonel, at the battle of El Alamein, was wounded and mentioned in despatches (London Gazette 1st January 1944). He was Military Attaché in Washington from 1943 to 1946 and retired in 1948 as Hon. Lieutenant-Colonel.

(Divo 539), extremely fine Major-General Sir John William Gordon, KCB (1805-1870), was the Inspector-General of Engineers and later commanded the Royal Engineers. He received this medal for his work on the British Pavilion at the Exhibition.
