The group also comes with his British Mercantile Marine Identity and Service Certificate as well as a folder of original documentation and photocopies of his mention in several book. Lt Mitchell arrived in France in Oct.1st 1916 and was killed in a flying accident aged 20 on Oct. 5th 1916 while serving with 70 Squadron. He was the Son of Lieut-Colonel Thomas Wilfred Howe Mitchell.
