Royal Humane Society Bronze Medal (38mm) presented by Colonel Horace Montagu to Alfred Durrant on 15th January 1897 (medal named & dated 1896), for attempting to save a man’s life who had fallen into the River Trent but sadly the man didn’t survive. In Original Case with Original Certificate framed (slight damage to certificate, glass missing from frame).

2 WW1 medal pairs, both consisting of the BWM and Victory medal.One pair named to 55148 A.E.Angell R.A.F, and the other named to M-270709 Pte J.Cuthbert A.S.C.Both are in good condition with normal service wear.N.B. Alfred Angell does not appear to have a Medal Index Card in official records, though he is listed in the RAF muster rolls, where his name is either Alfred E Angell or Alfred C Angell.

William McKnight R.N would appear to have had an extremely long naval career - after enlistment in 1909, he was finally invalided out of service in October 1945.Condition: generally very good, some very minor verdigris to a small area of one of the stars.

2 WWI interest items: a stoneware rum jar, marked SRD, which likely means 'Service Rum Dilute'. Plus a framed and glazed WWI Honourable Discharge certificate awarded to GNR Frederick Thomas Cosway RFA. Gnr Cosway enlisted in April 1914 and was discharged July 1919. He was also entitled to the BWM, Victory Medal, Territorial Force Medal and the Silver War Badge. 2 items. (Both generally good condition - some fading to the hand-written details on the certificate, but still readable.)
