The Noblemen and Gentlemen's Catch Club gold medal, awarded to Stephen Paxton of London, Violoncellist; 'for composing the best serious Glee 1784', by Thomas Pingo, catch club instituted London 1762, presented within original fitted case, 43mm diameter, weight 38gms Note- Stephen Paxton was a famous 18th century musician, Bap. Durham 27th December 1734, died London 18th August 1787. The club took much pride in its medals, gold medals to the value of ten guineas were presented for best compositions. Paxton won London catch club prize medals for his Glees; 'How Sweet, How Fresh' 1779. 'Round the Hapless' 1781, 'Ye Muses Inspire me' 1783 and 'Blest Pow'r here see' 1784

Colonel George Rainier Crawford, CB (1862-1915) the son of Major Francis Haden Crawford of the 98th Regt, married Miss Katherine Maude Bladen, Superintendent of the Victorian Home for Nurses, Cheltenham in 1907. In 1914 he applied for reinstatement but, being deemed too old for active service was appointed Hon Colonel of the 10th Bn West Riding Regiment. He died on 22 August 1914 and is buried in Leckhampton churchyard.
