Fairly scarce group of five medals named to 110092 PO1 W H Ellis RN, consisting of an East & West Africa medal with Benin 1897 clasp (named to PO2 of HMS Philomel), WW1 1914-15 Star trio (named to PO1) and a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (named to PO2 of HMS Pembroke). This lot includes a copy of his service record, which shows that he was born in Paignton, Devon and joined the Royal Navy in 1879 at the age of 15, earning his WW1 trio having transferred to the Royal Fleet Reserve
WW2 Lancaster bomber KIA group of three, consisting of an Air Crew Europe Star, 39-45 Star and War Medal, with a casualty slip to Pilot Officer N L Ballamy RAFVR, mint in greaseproof paper in original box addressed to his father. Pilot Officer Ballamy was the 21-year-old Navigator of Lancaster Mk 1 W4949 from 44 Squadron which was shot down over The Netherlands on 15 June 1943 whilst on a bombing mission to Oberhausen. Also included is a handwritten list of bombing targets through April and May, with an entry between 30 April and 16 May which reads, "Not home on leave (German Dam)". The Dambusters Raid took place on 16 May 1943 and it is thought that Ballamy`s leave must have been cancelled due to the secrecy surrounding this mission

Telegram from King Edward VIII. Handwritten letters from Queen Mary - an invitation to lunch, Queen Elizabeth, dated October 31st 1937 - a letter of sympathy regarding the death of Mrs Fuller's mother, Princess Elizabeth, dated 16th July 1947 and 13th October 1947 - thank you letters regarding her Engagement and Marriage, another dated September 13th 1950 - thank you letter regarding the birth of Princess Anne. Also included are the Official Grants for the Royal Victorian Order Appointing Reverend Fuller M.V.O. (1935) and C.V.O. (1942), signed by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Citation for the 1937 Coronation Medal to Mrs Fuller. Letters from Buckingham Palace regarding the return of King George V's brass cross after the death of The Reverend Fuller and a Biography of Reverend Arthur Fuller (1874 - 1959) - A fascinating and unique collection
