BOXING / FLOYD PATTERSON American boxer nicknamed "The Gentleman of Boxing", first heavyweight boxer to regain his title and won a gold medal at the 1952 Olympics aged 17. Two black and white press photographs, both with copyright stamp on the reverse (authentic): 9" x 7" Patterson in gym skipping in preparation for his fight with Sonny Liston (press stamped "Daily Sun 16/8/62); 10" x 8" Patterson receiving punch from Muhammad Ali during the World Title bout at Madison Square Garden 20/9/72 (press stamp "United Press International (UK) Ltd"). FULHAM FC MEDAL 1891 Winners medal for the West London Observer Association Football Challenge Cup 1891. Hall-marked silver with enamel crest and engraved on reverse "Fulham FC J.King 1891". Fulham FC, founded in 1879 had prior to this triumph only won one other Cup competition, namely the West London Cup in 1886-87, and this is a medal from only the second trophy that Fulham had won. Until 1898, Fulham were an amateur side and Jack King was also a member of the Fulham Championship team of 1892-93 (West London League) and was a founder member of the team from the Mud Pond pitch days near Star Lane. This was the first season that this Cup competition was held and Fulham defeated The Stanley 5-3 in the Final after a draw a week earlier. The medal with pin clasp is in good condition and comes with a non-original case. Good
NEW BRIGHTON FC FOOTBALL MEDAL A gold, hallmarked medal issued to a New Brighton player for winning the Liverpool County F.A. Senior Cup in season 1934/5 by beating Tranmere Rovers in the Final on 10th May 1935. This was the second and the final time that New Brighton won this competition. Good
§ Enrique Romero Santana (Spanish, b. 1947) Figures reaching for the sky signed lower right "Santana 1973" pen and ink on buff paper 46 x 32cm (18 x 12in) Other Notes: Enrique Romero Santana (b. 1947) is a Spanish artist, originally from a small town in Andalusia, who now lives in the United States. He is especially famous for his seascapes and urban landscapes. After studying education, philosophy, literature and psychology at university, he briefly shared an art studio with Antonio Lopez Garcia in Madrid in 1984. His work has been widely exhibited throughout Spain, France, Italy and the USA from 1988 onwards. Santana has lived and worked in Chicago since 1991. In 2000 and 2001, he won the Lepe and Andalusian Golden Medal Award for his artistic contributions. Examples of his work feature in numerous public and private collections in Chicago and Spain, most notably in the Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza collection in Madrid. A little dirt under the glass but fine.
