The other medal is partially named, 309 Pte.J Sie.... 7th Foot, the surname has been removed. The 65th Foot Regiment served 19 years in New Zealand before returning on the Rob Roy.

This lot includes associated war era paperwork to Arthur Roger Rye, including conduct notices drivers licences both national and international, flying memorabilia, Guernsey Post Office Savings Bank, Brooklands Automobile Racing Club Rules and Bye-Laws 1930 and 1935, Ration Books, Royal Air Force Service and Release book, Brooklands Aero Club Rules and Regs. Pilots log book for Arthur Roger Rye 1933-34, an album of postcards of Strada delle Dolomiti, two photographs of bi-planes, a well put together photograph album relating Zermatt Winter (1928-1930) of the Matterhorn and mountain ranges with figures skiing and ice skating. WWI medal group named to Corporal A.W.K Ryall RAF, Great War medal, George V 1914-18 medal and 1914-15 star. This lot includes a hand crafted biscuit barrel and trinket box crafted from the propeller of a Sopwith Camel propellor assembly by Corporal Ryall who was an aircraft instrument fitter, mechanic and observer based in Bourlon Wood, Ypres during September 1918. The trinket box is carved with the Flying Corps wings insignia, approx 9.5 x 5.5 cms, a photograph of Corporal Ryall and his wife is included.

Arthur Newcombe Rye 1st Guernsey Artillery and Engineers, 1914-18 medal, The Great War medal, he served in the Royal Horse Artillery as Gunnery Commander Howitzers but was invalided out in 1917 together with a cap badge and a City of Guilds London Technological Examination medal.
A gold-plated limited edition silver medal (no denomination), 2002, celebrating H.M Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee (1952-2002) verso bust of Elizabeth II facing left and rev. 50th Anniversary of 22 Special Air Service Regiment with SAS insignia, approx 39mm diameter, issue nr 578/750. This lot includes an oval pill box and cover decorated with the SAS insignia 'Who Dares Wins', approx 10 x 4 cms and a porcelain commemorative SAS 'A' Squadron cabinet plate. Note: This plate was commissioned by the 'A' Squadron Hierarchy to mark the 40 years since formation. It depicts Battle Honours up to this date, 1990.
Saco MK19 MOD3 40mm machine gun, mounted on an oak platform. Note: Prior to the Gulf War WO II [...] was the head of units Research and Development Department where he and his team identified this weapon as being ideal for mounting on the SAS Land Rover. In August 1990 WO II [...] was authorised to bypass the MOD system and procure sixteen weapons systems plus ammunition directly which was achieved in under 3 months by dealing with the US manufacturer. The US Marine Corps provided familiarisation and live fire training in Quantico for twelve members of the SAS prior to deployment. The system was deployed with UK Special Forces to the Gulf Region in January 1991. In one specific situation, one SAS soldier was awarded the Military Medal for using this weapon to counter and break up an attack by Iraqi Forces. This particular model was presented to Warrant Officer II [...] as a gift of appreciation by the supplier, post Gulf war.

Ww1 trio is inscribed 4576 DVR.T.TYSON.R.F.A and the other Ww1 pair is inscribed 70986 GNR.G.H.OAKLEY.R.A.
