WW2 Royal Air Force Pathfinder Warrant Officers Service Dress Tunic, interesting 1944 issue four pocket service dress tunic in RAF blue with fixed waist belt and brass buckle. Navigators brevet wing over medal ribbons and pathfinders badge attached to flap of breast pocket. Warrant Officers embroidered arm badges to the sleeve. Interior with size label having clear 1944 date and tailors details of G Glanfield & Son Ltd. Tunic remains in generally good condition. Accompanied by a photocopied log book and Pathfinder certificate attributing the tunic to Warrant Officer N C Scullard 1323810.

An important Archive of original Photographs and Negatives, over a period of approx. 20 years, c. 1869-1889. All in all, an outstanding Archive of Early Irish Photographic Material.** George Mansfield was originally an Apothecary or Chemist with a shop at 2 Lower Camden Street, Dublin in 1850. At the same time, his brother had a Fancy Goods Shop at 90 Grafton Street. In 1856, he joined the Dublin Photographic Society. By 1857 he had joined George Yeats at No. 2 Grafton Street, where they were offering a photographic service, as well as selling optical and photographic equipment. During the 1860's George joined his brother at 60 Grafton Street, as Mansfield's Brothers, where they sold general fancy goods, pianos, and other musical instruments and had a photographic studio located on the 1st floor. When the Prince of Wales visited Dublin, for the Opening Ceremony of the Dublin International Exhibition which was held in Earlsfort Terrace, George Mansfield received the commission to photograph him, and by all accounts sales of his carte de visit portrait of the Prince must have been very lucrative. Mansfield's chemical knowledge served him well, when in 1879 he made an important discovery which had the effect of greatly increasing the speed of the newly introduced dry plate process. He appears to have exploited this discovery financially as he was soon to be found living in Morristown Lattin, a large house near Naas. Towards the end of the Century he became a regular contributor to both the British Journal of Photography and Photographic News, the two leading British photographic periodicals at the time. He also immersed himself in the local area and became a Justice of the Peace. In 1898 his name figured on the Grand Jury at the Kildare Assizes, joining such people as Lord Walter Fitzgerald, a son of the Duke of Leinster and other gentry. All-Ireland Football Championship 1900The Premier County's Third TitleMedals: G.A.A., Football 1900, A heavy 9ct gold Medal in the Celtic Cross design, with pierced centre, and inscribed 'Cumann na gcleas Luith Gaedhealach,' and Eire across the middle and central harp, the reverse inscribed "All Ireland Football Championship, won by Clonmel Shamrocks, (Tipperary) 1900, hall marked; together with a silver cross shaped Medal inscribed "Tipperary County Championship, won by Clonmel Shamrocks - P. Moloney, G.A.A. 1900," as a group. Scarce. * It was the 14th year of the competition, under the Captaincy of Jack Tobin, Tipperary beat London 3.7 to 0.2 at Jones's Road, in front of a crowd of only 2,000.

(1)* It was the 37th staging of the competition and under the Captaincy of Mick Kenny, Galway beat Limerick on a scoreline of 7.3 to 4.5 to win their First Title.

Sir Edward Brantwood Maufe (1882-1974). A walnut Swedish green marble topped refectory table, made by Crossley and Brown, the marble inset into a shallow frieze, on octagonal tapering legs joined by stretchers, L.6ft 6in.Sir Edward Brantwood Maufe, RA, FRIBA (1882-974) was an English architect and designer. He built private homes as well as commercial and institutional buildings, and is noted chiefly for his work on places of worship and memorials. Perhaps his best known buildings are Guildford Cathedral and the Air Forces Memorial. He was a recipient of the Royal Gold Medal for architecture in 1944 and, in 1954, received a knighthood for services to the Imperial War Graves Commission.Maufe's wife, Prudence, was chief buyer for Heal's department store in London.Crossley and Brown applied the traditional principles of the Arts and Crafts movement, inspired by the Cotswold school of craftsmen, from their workshops in Willesden and their showrooms in Golders Green made this table as a special commission.

A fine George III silver gilt mounted presentation sword by Rundell, Bridge and Rundell, the blade inscribed "St Sebastian taken by storm XXX1st August MDCCCXIII, to one side and to "Lieut. Colonel Snodgrass. This sabre is presented by his townsmen of Paisley joined by several noblemen and gentlemen in its vicinity is an expression of high esteem for his character and admiration of his distinguished services in the course of his country and her allies. Paisley MDCCCXII" to the other side, London 1813, together with an illuminated proclamation, with seals, boxed, to Kenneth Snodgrass (c.1830) length 35in.See lot 635 for the medal awarded to Captain Snodgrass. The following obituary was originally published in the Illustrated Sydney News,10th December 1853 page. 5Snodgrass, Kenneth (1784-1853)The late Colonel Snodgrass was born in the west of Scotland about the year 1784. The Colonel was the eldest son of a Doctor of Divinity of the Church of Scotland, and his mother was the sister of Sir K. Douglass, Baronet. At an early age he entered the army, and distinguished himself as an officer of the 52nd Regiment. His excellent military qualities soon attracted the General in command, and he was on various occasions selected as leader of extraordinary attacks on the French during the war in Spain, and for many years was entrusted with the sole command of Portuguese battalions. In the "Exploits of Wellington," "Maxwell's Life of Wellington," and the "Subaltern," this distinguished officer's courage as victoriously leading the "forlorn hope" at St. Sebastian, is particularly narrated. On that occasion the Colonel, then only a Major, lost 200 men, before he reached the bastions of the fortress. The citadel was taken by Snodgrass and four hundred British soldiers, the French fighting hand to hand. For this act he was presented with a magnificent gold sword and medal. The Colonel was twice wounded, as a recompense for which he enjoyed a considerable pension until his death. When Sir .T. Franklin left Van Diemen's Land, he administered the civil government of that island, and afterwards that of New South Wales, between the departure of Sir Richard Bourke, and the arrival of Sir G. Gipps. His venerable mother only died about a year ago, aged 90; his brother, the late Lieut. Colonel Snodgrass, formerly aide-de-camp to Sir Archibald Campbell, the conqueror of Burmah in 1825, died several years ago. The late Colonel Snodgrass has left two married daughters and several sons, one a major in the 96th regiment in India. He was no less distinguished for his social qualities, his unbounded hospitality, and goodness of heart, than for his military acquirements. He was well known in the colony as Commander of the Forces and originator of the Mounted Police during the desperate bushranging period. The Colonel died on the banks of the Hunter, of gout in the stomach, in October, 1853.

His diplomatic postings included Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, 1914-17, Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, 1917-19 , Teneriffe, 1922, Barcelona, 1924-29, Valparaiso, Chile, 1932, Melbourne, Australia, 1930 and Port Elizabeth, South Africa 1934. He married his English-born wife Gladys (nee Martin) in Teneriffe and Pamela Henry was his daughter. On his retirement, the family relocated to Nutley, East Sussex.
