Inscribed to his personal assistant MARCONI GUGLIELMO: (1874-1937) Italian Inventor, developed a radio telegraph system. Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1909. A very fine vintage signed and inscribed sepia 9 x 14 photograph, the image depicting Marconi seated in a half length pose with his arms folded. Photograph by The Dover Street Studios of London. Signed in bold fountain pen ink to the lower border, 'To Round with sincere friendship, G Marconi' and dated 1914 in his hand. A good association photograph. Framed and glazed in the original decorative wooden frame to an overall size of 11 x 16. Some very light, extremely minor age wear to the extreme edges, otherwise VG The present photograph was inscribed by Marconi to Captain Henry J. Round (1881-1966) English Engineer and one of the early pioneers of Radio. Round joined the Marconi Company in 1902 and served as personal assistant to Guglielmo Marconi. The year 1914, in which the present photograph was signed, saw Marconi being made a Senator in the Italian Senate and was also the year in which he was awarded the Albert Medal by the Royal Society of Arts and appointed Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. During World War I Marconi was placed in charge of the Italian military's radio service. Round also served in World War I and was seconded to Military Intelligence in 1914.

Each of the Limited Edition flown covers (most numbered from limited editions of 650, some less) are loosely contained in individual display sleeves and are accompanied by loose brief printed biographies and images. Medals; Military General Service Medal, with clasps Nivelle, Nive and Toulouse, named to Captain Thomas Champ, confirmed on roll and correctly named, 43rd (Monmouthshire) Light Infantry of Foot, served Peninsular War with the 1/43rd and was present at San Munos, Nivelle, Nive, Tarbes and Toulouse, also served at Copenhagen 1807 and North America 1814-15, died 1851.

A group of five WWII medals comprising 1939-45 Star with metalled Minesweeping badge, Atlantic Star with France and Germany bar, Defence Medal and War Medal with oak leaf, together with corresponding dress miniature medals, and a Royal Navy Patrol Service Medal, all awarded to Seaman James William Mascall, JX287544, together with his service record, photocard dated 1942, and 'mentioned in Despatches' certificate.

A WW2 Medal group of five including the Atlantic and Italy Stars complete with the Admiralty Condolence letter and posting box awarded to P/KX 135189 Leading Stoker Albert Travers who was killed on the 18th April 1944 whilst serving on board HM Motor Torpedo Boat 707. The box is addressed to his father John Travers in Co Durham
A Swedish silver peg tankard with hinged domed cover, double scrolling handle with shield terminal, repousse work tulips and raised on ball feet. Set with a medal to the cover Carolus XI and the obverse Ulrica Eleonora. Punch marks for Stockholm 1941, 20.5cm. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Good condition. No damage or repair.
