SILVER CIGARETTE CASE BELONGING TO LT COL ARCHIBALD CRERAR maker Charles Perry & Co., Chester 1928-29, parcel gilt interior engraved 'Archibald Crerar and dated 10-7-35, 51st Hghland Division and Royal Army Medical Corps,approximately 135g, with provenance Note: WIth WWII military record. This cigarette case was a 21st birthday present. He carried this case whilst serving with the 51st Highland Division in NOrth Africal, Sicily and the 'D-Day' Landings. He was born on the Isle of Bute. Includeed - London Gazette Military Record Medal Awards.
Lt Col Eric Wilson VC (1912 - 2008) signed Christmas 1914 Truce in the Trenches cover. Wilson won the Victoria Cross in 1940 in Somaliland with the East Surrey Regiment of the British Army. At the time of his death in 2008 Wilson was the last surviving British Army recipient of the Victoria Cross from WWII. His medal is now on display as part of the famous Lord Ashcroft gallery at the Imperial War Museum in London. Good condition

The Noblemen and Gentlemen's Catch Club gold medal, awarded to Stephen Paxton of London, Violoncellist; 'for composing the best serious Glee 1784', by Thomas Pingo, catch club instituted London 1762, presented within original fitted case, 43mm diameter, weight 38gms Note- Stephen Paxton was a famous 18th century musician, Bap. Durham 27th December 1734, died London 18th August 1787. The club took much pride in its medals, gold medals to the value of ten guineas were presented for best compositions. Paxton won London catch club prize medals for his Glees; 'How Sweet, How Fresh' 1779. 'Round the Hapless' 1781, 'Ye Muses Inspire me' 1783 and 'Blest Pow'r here see' 1784
