A World War I/II medal group awarded to Second Engineer Alexander Chapman Anderson, Merchant Navy, comprising Mercantile Marine 1914-18 Medal, 1914-18 Medal, 1939-45 Medal, 1939-45 Star and Atlantic Star together with photographs, letters, memorial booklet etc. A C Anderson served on SS Oakcrest in November 1940. The ship was sunk and he died from exposure in the lifeboat, he was buried at sea aged 59

Recipeint of several awards including a gold medal from the Mumbai Art Society the Maharashtra State Award and the Proffessor Langhammer Award. Taught at the Sir JJ School of Art for twenty two years, retiring in 1994. Has held several solo exhibitions across India and abroad and has participated in major international art exhibitions. His works are in the collection of the National gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi, and in private and public collections in India and abroad. Lives and works in Mumbai.
