RARE CASED S.S DRUMMOND CASTLE MEDAL 1896 in silver, unnamed and with handwritten card to interior of case detailing the loss of the ship which floundered in the English Channel near the French island of Ushant, on its return voyage from Natal and Capetown. CHARLTON ATHLETIC MEDAL Hall-marked gold medal and case awarded to Joe Jobling of Charlton Athletic by the Football League as Charlton were Champions of Division 3 South in season 1934-35. Charlton won the Division by 8 points, scoring over 100 goals that season. The Football League Winners medal is inscribed "Charlton Athletic, 1934-35, J.Jobling " on the reverse. The case has "The Football League" inscribed on the top and the medal was made by Vaughtons of Birmingham. Joe Jobling played for Charlton from 1931 up to the Second World War and during the War when available. Good

Campaign Medals A Boer and Great War Group of eight Medals to Lieutenant Colonel William H Murphy, DSO, KPM, TD, Leinster Regiment, London Irish Regiment and Commandant Zanzibar Police, consisting of Distinguished Service Order, Kings Police medal, Kings South Africa medal with two clasps (South Africa 1901 & 1902), Queens South Africa medal with six clasps (Laings Nek, Relief of Ladysmith, Tugela Heights, Wittebergen, Transvaal, Cape Colony), Star Medal 1914-15, British War medal, Victory medal, and Territorial Decoration medal, presented in a modern glazed display case with a black and white photograph of the recipient, together with a portrait of William H Murphy in Regimental uniform, signed and dated 1945, watercolour London Gazette, 18.7.18, "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Whilst in command of the battalion, he reconnoitered the whole of the position and was continually in the front line, where his unfailing cheerfulness was an inspiration to all ranks. On the occasion of an attack, he successfully led his battalion in support at very short notice and in darkness. Later, he directed the withdrawal with remarkable skill, and on another occasion, when the outpost line held by his battalion, was attacked in large force by the enemy, and eventually pressed back, he re-established the line of posts and organised them into a defensive position, maintaining them until relieved. He displayed magnificent courage, leadership and ability."

GWALIOR STAR, MAHARAJPOOR, 29TH DEC 1843. Engraved (Private Leister Snowden H.M. 40th Regt), attested for the 40th Regiment at Manchester on 5 July 1834, aged 18 years. With the regiment he served in India and Afghanistan for 7 years and Australia for 5 years and was awarded the Candahar Ghuznee Cabul Medal 1842 and the Maharajpoor Star 1843. Although his 'Character and Conduct' were summarized as 'Good', his papers state that he was four times tried by Court Martial - for desertion, neglect, drunkenness and absence without leave. He was discharged as medically unfit on 13 July 1858
