A Significant and Extensive Archive of WWII and Later Items, relating to 2079397 Sapper William Edward Kidd, Royal Engineers including group of six medals comprising War Medal, Defence Medal, Africa Star, Italy Star, 1939-45 Star, Territorial Medal, badges, photographs, wartime paperwork, German wartime 'Trophies' including medals, badge, bayonet, among many other associated items. A lot worthy of full inspection. A Sheffield Man William Kidd was born in 1921, enlisting into the Army on 15th May 1939 aged 17, seeing service in various theatres throughout the war he was transferred onto the reserve in April 1946 with savings of £80 - 11 shillings. He went on in civilian life to work as a motor mechanic, dying in 1994.

Awarded to Winifred Clark, Queen Alexandra Nurse, lot also includes photograph and associated badges. Research indicate Winifred Clark served as a Queen Alexandra Nurse on H.M. Hospital Ship Llandovery Castle II during various campaigns in North Africa as well as The Italian Campaign. Miss Clark went on to be a Matron in Southend on Sea.

Plus a George VI Territorial Efficient Service Medal, cased to Major F.L.Sedgwick, Royal Artillery. The lot also contains three letters related to the Efficiency Medals and other small items.
A WWI Medal Duo, comprising War Medal and Victory Medal to 4256 Pte G. Taylor, Machine Gun Corps, with facsimile paperwork. Records indicate George Taylor originally enlisted in The Border Regiment as No 20737 before transferring to The Machine Gun Corps, in 1916. He was discharged to The Reserve on 8th February 1919.
