Royal Navy HMS Boadicea Officer’s South Africa Zulu War Medal. Awarded to “A.G. CAWSTON MIDSN HMS BOADICEA”. Who died whilst in Royal Navy service. Lieutenant Arthur George Cawston is confirmed as serving as a Midshipman onboard HMS Boadicea, a Bacchante class corvette during the Zulu war. He had entered Britannia as a Cadet in July 1876 and was posted to HMS Boadicea as a Midshipmen Cadet on the 25th July 1878 and was promoted to Midshipman whilst onboard on the 25th October 1878. He was promoted to Sub Lieutenant in 1882 and Lieutenant in 1885. After serving at various shore establishments he was posted to the RN survey ship HMS Penguin, which was bound for the Australian station on the 31st August 1891. Whilst serving onboard he is listed as died on the 3 July 1892.

Boer War 64th Battery Royal Field Artillery Queen’s South Africa Pair of Medals. Awarded to “25377 CPL W DARLOW R.F.A”. Comprising: Queen’s South Africa Medal “CORPL 64TH BTY R.F.A”, bearing four clasps “Orange Free State”, “Relief of Ladysmith”, “Transvaal”, “Laing’s Nek”, King’s South Africa Medal, “CPL RFA’, bearing two clasps “South Africa 1901”, “South Africa 1902”. Medals loose slight edge knocks Corporal William Darlow a native of Warwick enlisted into the Royal Field Artillery on the 12th January 1898. He embarked for South Africa on the 1st November 1899 and remained there until 14th October 1902. His service record shows that whilst in South Africa injured his right hand. Returning to the UK the records also show he was struck by lightning on the 14th May 1903. He was discharged on the 11th January 1910. Medal and clasp entitlement confirmed.

Awarded TO “23793 TPR T.TAYLOR 24TH COY IMP YEO.” Bearing the five clasps “Cape Colony”, “Orange Free State”, “Transvaal”, “South Africa 1901”, “South Africa 1902”. Last two clasps loose. Clasp entitlement is confirmed.
34th (Cumberland) Regiment Victorian Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal Awarded to “3878 PTE JEREMH REGAN 34TH FOOT”. Private Jeremiah Regan enlisted in 1853 and was severely wounded in the leg in trenches before Sebastapol on the 7th June 1855. He also saw service in India during the Mutiny. He was discharged after his second term of enlistment 1875
Royal Navy HMS Shah Engineer’s 1879 South Africa Zulu War Medal A good example awarded to “W. MC.QUIRE ENGR R.N. HMS SHAH”. GC. Ship’s name divided by suspension post. Engineer William Mc.Quire joined the Royal Navy as a 2nd Class Assistant Engineer in October 1864. promoted 1st Class in 1867 and achieved the rank of Engineer May 1875. He joined HMS Shah in August 1876, serving on the Pacific station. On her return she was diverted to South Africa. He retired in April 1822 as no longer fit for service.
58th (Rutlandshire) Foot Zulu War 1879 South Africa Medal. Awarded to “447 PTE W HURST 58TH FOOT”. Bearing the clasp “1879” Suspension slack. Private William Hurst was a native of Bolton Lancashire and enlisted into the 58th Foot on the 10th November 1876. He was posted to South Africa in 1879 and is confirmed as been awarded the medal with clasp. He returned to the UK in 1883 and was discharged on the 9th November 1888.

A shoulder rank pattern Officer’s tunic, bearing Battalion cloth badges to each sleeve and large 25th Division scarlet cloth horseshoe badge to the back. Complete with regimental collar badges and brass buttons. The lining with tailor’s label with ink name “S. Hillier Esq July 1917”. Selected for a commission he was appointed a 2/Lt in the 6th Bn South Wales Borderers on the 2nd August 1917. Returning to France he was Killed in Action on the 25th March 1918 at Sapignies. His medals were issued to his brother in 1922 then living in Marlborough.

German Third Reich. WW2 Army Documents of Oberleutnant Boehm-Tettelbach a member of Hitler’s Personal Headquarters Staff. This interesting group of documents refer to the award and permission to wear the British Coronation Medal of George VI in 1937. Four documents with various stamps and signatures. ... Accompanied by a 1937 Coronation Medal. Oberleutnant Boehm-Tettelbach served with army holding the rank of Oberstleutnant, Lieutenant Colonel at the Coronation of King George VI he served as aide to Field Marshal von Blomberg not only to represent Germany at the coronation, but to have talks with senior British politicians. It was after this trip and the reports given to Hitler, that orders were given for more resources be given to the armed Forces. During WW2. he transferred to the Luftwaffe and commanded a Heavy destroyer fighter wing. He was later appointed to Hitler’s Headquarters Staff and was one of the German Staff Officers present at the surrender to the Allied Forces in May 1945. In the post war years he moved to the USA and worked for Pan Am Air line. He died in 2001
British Army Imperial Yeomanry Pattern Sword. This example with a straight plain blade. The back edge stamped with the original owner’s name “Sgt R.A. Beckett:. The hilt with a plain polished guard and an ebonized ribbed grip. Housed in original polished brown leather scabbard. Overall GC Scabbard with damage to the leather covering of the chape. It is believed this sword was carried by Sergeant Richard A. Beckett of the 2nd County of London Yeomanry who was awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal in 1912. He had also seen service in South Africa with the “Rough Riders” Imperial Yeomanry.
