A rare CMG three Campaign group of six Medals to Rev Jacob Blackbourne, The Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George Campanion’s Neck Badge (CMG), Queens South Africa Medal, five clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Transvaal and South Africa 1901, Africa General Service Medal, two clasps, Somaliland 1902-04 and Jidbali 1914 Star with ‘Mons’ clasp, British War Medal and Victory Medal with ‘Oak Leaf’, during South Africa Campaign Rev Blackbourne was twice mentioned in dispatches and was awarded seven years promotion for bravery in the field at the Battle of Paardeberg, in 1903 he joined the Somaliland Field Force and was again mentioned in dispatches becoming the only Church of England Chaplain to receive the Africa General Service Medal with Somaliland/Jidbali clasps, at the outbreak of the Great War, although a 1st Class Chaplain ranking as Colonel and Senior Chaplain of the Aldershot Command, he proceeded to France as Chaplain of 1st Field Ambulance, he went through the retreat from Mons covering every inch of the way on foot and refusing to make use of his horse which he maintained was more needed by others, subsequently he became Senior Chaplain of 1st Division then of 1st Army and eventually of 1st Army Corps, in 1915 he was again mentioned in dispatches and later awarded the CMG, post-war he became Rector of Acle, Norfolk until 1923 when he was appointed Vicar of Kings Lynn, remaining there until 1929 when he was at Fretherne Glocs for another year before going to Thames Ditton where he was Vicar until his death in 1936

A fine Second World War Air Bombers DFC group of seven Medals to Squadron Leader Ian G O Fenton RAF, Distinguished Flying Cross, the reverse officially dated ‘1940’, in case of issue, 1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, General Service Medal with Malaya Clasp, 1953 Coronation Medal + set of Miniatures mounted as worn, Together with his comprehensive Log Books from 1937-57 with other relevant items including his Jacket, Dress Jacket and Waistcoat, Buckingham Palace Admittance Ticket for his Investiture dated 25 Feb 1941, News Cuttings, etc, Squadron Leader Fenton joined the RAF in 1937 having earlier learned to fly with the East Anglian Aero Club and qualified as a 1st Pilot on Wellington Bombers in July 1939, following a series of successful bombing raids he was awarded the DFC on 22 Oct 1940, his service with the RAF ended in August 1957 by which time he had spent over 2000 hours in the air, flown 28 different aeroplanes and landed at over 100 aerodromes
A scarce Great War MM group of four Medals to G-17333 Pte Philip Alexander Griston, Royal Sussex Regiment, Military Medal and Bar, British War Medal, Victory Medal and WWII Defence Medal, Pte Griston was awarded the Military Medal for his actions 12th April 1918 at Kemmel Hill, ‘when all runners had become casualties Private Griston carried a most important message back to Headquarters and maintained communication under very heavy shell fire’, he was further awarded to Bar to Military Medal for his actions on 10th September 1918 at Moislains, ‘---successfully carried an important message to advanced posts over a single plank bridge across a canal under very heavy sniper and machine gun fire’; Together with some relevant ephemera, during the Second World War Griston, then a resident of North Walsham, Norfolk, taught himself German using a Linguaphone Course and concealed a radio in his home in preparation for a possible invasion, for these actions he was awarded the Defence Medals, sadly his brother Geoffrey serving with the Norfolk Regiment was killed in Gallipoli on 21st August 1915 and his Victory Medal is offered with the lot + the original Linguaphone Records and instruction booklet

Reynoud, Paris, c. 1889, comprising metal drum (21 cm diam.), on turned wood stand with brass candle holder, shade holder, orig. six-section printed paper shade, four interchangeable paper scenes, mirror, internal viewing screen and ten interchangeable picture strips, in polished mahogany case Reynoud's praxinoscope gained distinction at the Universal Paris Exhibition in 1878 and a bronze medal at the International Paris Exhibition in 1879.
