Scarce 1887 M.C.C Alfred Lyttelton Real Tennis Gold Plated Medal presented to Lyttelton for his victory in the M.C.C 'Gold Racquet' amateur real tennis competition in 1887 - a title he was able to secure on twelve separate occasions - to the obverse the M.C.C logo surrounded by the inscription 'Challenge Tennis Prize', the reverse engraved 'Won By A. Lyttelton 1887', diameter 51mm, weight 62.6g approx., complete with an engraving showing Alfred Lyttelton and Saunders on the court of Princes Club in 1889 (2) Note: Alfred Lyttelton QC (1857-1913) was a British politician and sportsman who excelled at tennis, football and cricket. During his time at University he participated in Varsity matches in five sports; real tennis, cricket, football, athletics and rackets. Arguably he was the pre-eminent sportsman of his generation and among numerous achievements was the first man to represent England at both football and cricket.

A hallmarked silver open face pocket watch, the enamel dial set with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds hand, inscribed 'Fattorini, Skipton', a silver plated vesta case, a WWII Defence Medal and a small quantity of coins and badges to include an enamelled silver badge for the Lancashire Fusiliers and a corkscrew with horn handle.
A rare Edwardian 9ct gold and double sided enamel decorated football medal for the Zingari League, the front centred with an enamelled portrait of a young gypsy girl within a pierced border inscribed "I Zingari Football League Season 1908-9", the reverse centred with an enamel roundel depicting a female upon horseback within a border inscribed "Valkyrie Champions Div One. H.L.Lloyd", length 3cm, approx 8.4g. The Zingari League was an amateur football competition based in Liverpool starting in 1895; the league continued to be run until 2006 when it merged with the Liverpool County Combination to form the new Liverpool County Premier League. CONDITION REPORT No apparent damage, some slight surface scratching to the enamel, clear inscription and marks.
A WWI Gallantry medal group, awarded to 12337 Sargent Green of the 19th Battalion Manchester RegimentSargent Cyril Bertram Green was awarded The Distinguished Conduct medal on the 9th July 1917, the Citation States "For Conspicuous Gallantry and Devotion to Duty. Although wounded and having been buried by a shell he remained at duty for two days during a critical period. He has set a fine example throughout". Medal group comprises Distinguished Conduct Medal, 1914-15 Star, War Medal and War for Civilisation Medal, also with this lot various ephemera relating to the award to include a XXX division card from Major General W L Williams informing Green that he has been awarded the medal, various types of information and a newspaper cutting etc. also a cast iron Lusitania medal.
