Following a career in nursing, she was awarded The British Empire Medal in 1990 for nearly fifty years work with the RAF Association and RAF Benevolent Fund , Miss Easterbrook passed away in 1999.

Records Indicate J.C Bentley was a Huddersffield man and Son of Mr and Mrs F.J. Bentley, was a career sailor, he has awarded his DSM in September 1940 while aboard The Class I Destroyer HMS Inglefield at The Battle of Dakar in French East Africa. He supported an officer in fighting a fire and rescuing men in The Ships Magazine.

A WWI Medal Trio comprising 1914-15 Star, War Medal and Victory Medal to 11837 Pte T Beal, Yorkshire Light Infantry, plus Death 'Penny', soldiers small book among associated items. Records indicate Thomas Beal was born in 1882 in Sheffield and enlisted in The Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry on 30th August 1914, having served in The Steel Industry. Thomas was killed in action 20th July 1915 and is buried at The Bedford House Cemetery, Zillebeke, Belgium. A WWI Medal Duo comprising War and Victory Medal to 1895 Private Clifford Beal, Royal Army Medical Corps, plus 1916 photograph. Records indicate Clifford Beal survived the war. WWI Medal Trio comprising 1914-15 Star, War Medal and Victory Medal to 15951 L/Cpl A.H. Beal, Yorkshire Light Infantry, plus Death 'Penny', soldiers small book, a private letter to his mother informing her of his brother's death, dog tag among associated items. Records indicate Arthur Beal was born in 1894 and trained as a Butcher in Sheffield before enlisting into the 6th Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry on the same day as his brother Thomas on 30th August 1914. On July 21st 1915 he sent a moving hand written letter to his mother, informing her that his brother Thomas was killed by shrapnel a few yards away from him the day before. This letter survives in the lot. Arthur died of his wounds on 17th August 1915 in hospital in Boulogne and is buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery.

A WW2 era Iron Cross, worn by Billy on the inner sleeve of 'Love'.“Around 1982 I worked on a stall in Kensington Market, London that sold vintage military clothing and memorabilia and I picked up this old German medal there. I’d always had an interest in war history, as does Ian, but I started wearing the Iron Cross in The Cult because I was influenced by the look of the Ashton Brothers on the sleeve of the classic debut album from The Stooges. It was part of my psychedelic biker look that also included hippy beads with a peace sign, the Triumph Motorcycle belt buckle, leather pants and the paisley shirts.”

Hugh Porter MBE - Black fine line pen, 14.8cm x 21cm. Framed and glazed. Hugh Porter is one of Britain's greatest professional cyclists winning four world titles in the individualist pursuit as well as a Commonwealth Games gold medal in 1966. He is now a commentator for cycling events, working mainly for the BBC. Provenance: Acquired by Dorothy Claxton on 10th December 2013 at the Saltwells Centre sports presentation.

Anita Lonsbrough - Blue biro, 14.8cm x 21cm. Framed and glazed. Anita Lonsbrough is a former swimmer for Great Britain who won a gold medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. She also won several other gold medals in other worldwide events throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Provenance: Acquired by Dorothy Claxton on 10th December 2013 at the Saltwells Centre sports presentation.

Tippett'. Note: The Motor Cycling Club founded 1901 and one of the oldest clubs for the sporting motorist. The medallions in this and the following five lots are therefore early medals awarded by The Motor Cycling Club. The club is well known for three great long-distance classic reliabilty trials still run today, namely; London-Exeter-London (held in January), London-Lands End-London (held at Easter), and London-Edinburgh-London (held in early October)
