Consisting of; For God & Empire Meritorious Service Medal ERII Instituted By King George V, General Service Medal with Palestine 1936-39 bar, 1939-1945 star, Atlantic Star with France & Germany bar, 39-45 War Medal, George VI Royal Victorian Medal, May 1910 - May 1935 George VI & Queen Mary medal, and Long Service & Good Conduct medal with bar. Presented with original ribbons and bar, in original box. Along with; a personally and fully annotated photograph album by George detailing 'I was very fortunate to be one of the four Chief Petty Officers selected for the Royal Gun Carriage Crew, to convey the late King (George) from Windsor Station To St Georges Chapel on 15th Feb 1952,' The photograph album showing the entire procession of the coffin through Windsor, troop training for the occasion etc. Also included; A 1950's photograph album filled with personal photographs of Reed in his post-WW2 days including photos aboard HMS Wrangler, photos of on-shore activities, friends, Fifth Frigate Squadron at Malta, planes, battleships, mess, Grease, Admiral Lord Louid Mountbattens' visit to the ship, including a candid photograph of Mountbatten Of Burma being personally signed in fountain pen, photographs of HMS Wrangler in dry dock awaiting repairs 1953 and many others. An HMS Wrangler Daily Orders Sheet Personal correspondence and letters, newspaper cuttings etc. Personal effects including:: A silver plate cigarette case engraved 'Presented To GW Reed in appreciation of Services Rendered As Secretary Of Portsmouth RN & RM Gunnery Instructors Association 1949-1952, lapel badges, a loose photograph of Reed sporting his medals and full uniform, and his own personal Manual Of Seamanship Vol II 1951. The collection finished with a Gunnery Instructors Association Dinner & Dance reunion 1969 menu, being autographed to the rear by attendees including Barbara Castle and many others. Flew a huge array of aircraft finally ferrying German planes at the end of the war.. Some wear and tear but good condition for age. Has autographs of many commanding officers of his squadrons inc Sqn Ldr Pinfold, P Brothers, Flt Lt Royce, Wg Cdr Gough, R Foster.
