[Aaron Edwards, 53rd Reconnaissance Regiment, 53rd Division, enlisted 1931 in the Royal Welch Fusiliers, serving at Gibraltar and China until transferring to the Reserve in 1938. The copy citation reads "This NCO carried out ***** excellent patrols, gaining valuable information, during the **** this Regiment was holding a part of the line in the **** (9462) - **** (9261) area near CAEN. When 'A' Squadron was ordered to *** across from TRUN to the Argentan - Falaise road, the Assault Troop was ordered to assist the leading Armoured Car Troop, which was held up by the enemy when approaching ******* *** ***** (****) sjt Edwards was ordered to take two ****** out to the left flank and attack the enemy.
