Third Reich medals and badges: 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class, the back stamped “L59”, War Merit Cross 2nd class with swords (dull grey finish), Mother’s Cross in bronze, 1939 bar to 2nd Class Iron Cross on ribbon, heavy solid wound bade (originally silvered ?, the swastika removed), “Deutschland Erwache 1933” enamelled badge, 3 stick pins (enamelled SS, eagle and swastika, and 3 WWI medal bar); also War Merit Cross 1st class with swords and 1939 bar to 1st class Iron Cross, probably post war copies. Cpl C F Clark RMLI); RFR LS&GC, Geo V Admiral’s bust type (PO 11121 (R1240) C F Clark Pte RFR), VF mounted as worn. With: recipient’s MID certificate (pasted onto card) and copy of relevant London Gazette page (30.11.1917); various photos of recipient including wedding; Certificates of Service and Demobilization etc; Princess Mary Christmas gift tin including card, photo, 3 cigarettes in pack and ½ pack of tobacco; Comrades Lodge Buffaloes medal 1925; photo of Victory Parade Winchester Barracks, RA, for the end of the Boer War; “photo” of image of “HM Cruiser Squadron in a Gale in the Bay of Biscay October 15th and 16th 1902 to Portsmouth” showing 5 identified vessels. Third Reich medals: War Merit Cross 1st class without swords, in its box (the box damaged), Faithful Service Decoration for 25 years, in its card box (box slightly damaged), East Front Medal with ribbon, and 1939 Iron Cross 2nd class with ribbon (copy?); also a WWII period wound badge in silver, of heavy solid construction. B.E.M., EIIR civil issue (Charles Herman Green), GVF in Royal Mint case. Awarded in New Year Honours 1984 for his services to the Order of St John. Sold with a framed display of: St John neck badge in silver; group of four: Officers Serving Brother breast badge, 1st type; BWM and Victory (erased), Defence medal, with the miniature group of four; Middlesex Regt cap badge; Royal Life Saving bronze medal and St John badges; photos of recipient including one showing Green being part of the first flight by a St John member of the Aeromedical Service 1924; recipient’s Maundy Set 1981 with pouch.Also, unframed, St John service medal (8148 Winnifred Hepper 1954) VF and sundry buttons, etc. Charles Green was employed as an Ambulance Attendant at St Johns Gate Chancery from 1921 and was their first Air Ambulance attendant. An RAF SAC Radio Operator’s service dress jacket, factory label d 1952, with insignia and KC staybrite buttons; an ERII Flight Lt barathea blouse, embroidered ERII Pilot’s wings, Coronation medal ribbon; 3 berets, one d 1943 with spurious LRDG badge; a folding shovel in canvas pouch d 1944; 2 khaki webbing triple pouches; a line of 11 coloured hessian pennants, one with added inscription.
