FOUR SIDE SADDLE STIRRUPS, includes examples by "Cope" impressed size 6 to base and "Scotts" (The Scotts stirrup was patented in 1885 by John Scott of the firm Hampson and Scott of Clarence Works, Walsall. Although it received a medal for it's design in 1885, it was later improved in 1893 to allow equal movement by removing the stop of the base of the stirrup, thus releasing in either direction. The main principal of the stirrup is the release of the upper part of the inner stirrup which splits open to release the foot)
