A rare and early FIFA badge circa 1911 originally belonging to the pioneering F.A. Official Charles James Hughes (1853-1916),  the white metal badge with gilt football in relief to centre and inscribed FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE FOOTBALL ASSOCAITION This type of badge was worn by high delegates at formal occasions such as FIFA congresses. The images for this lot show a 1911 illustration of the medal that appeared in a Norwegian Football Federation journal in August 1911. There is an additional pictures of two delegates FIFA President Daniel Wolfall and Baron Lafayette wearing this style of badge at the 10th FIFA Congress at Copenhagen in 1913.

It aimed to fill the gap left in English football by the suspension of the FA Cup during WWII.
