OLYMPIC GAMES 1952 HELSINKI Five album pages with the signatures in ink of over 60 GB competitors in Athletics in the Olympics. It was a poor Olympics in terms of medals for the GB team but there were plenty of top eight positions. Signatures include Disley who won a bronze medal, Pirie, Sands, Lerwill, Canley, Cheeseman, Foulds, Desforges, Armitage etc plus signature of Howard Whitlock who won gold for GB in the 1936 Olympics and George Rhodes of Jamaica who won gold for Jamaica in Helsinki. Generally good
1960 ROME OLYMPIC GAMES Two scarce , similar , 1960 Rome Olympic Games greetings cards with Olympic sports detailed in drawings on the front and back and signed by gold medallists from the Rome Olympic games including Peter Snell, Anita Lonsbrough, Herb Elliott, Ray Norton and Steve Johnson (both members of the gold medal winning USA relay teams who were unfortunately disqualified). Other signatures include Herb McKinley, Betty Cuthbert and Shankar Laxman. Good
OLYMPIC GAMES 1928 Two very rare b/w photographs of the Uruguayan and Argentinian football teams returning home after the 1928 Olympic games in Amsterdam in which Uruguay won the gold medal defeating Argentina in a Final replay 2-1, the first game ending 1-1. Picture 1 measures 6" x 4" arriving back in Montevideo" and shows the Uruguayan players at a reception with officials after arriving back in August 1928. Picture 2 shows a large black/white photograph of the crowd welcoming back Argentina after their return from the 1928 Olympics football., measures 24cm x 18cm. Generally good
LONDON OLYMPICS 1948- SWIMMING VIP edition official programme for Swimming at Empire Pool at London Olympics 4/8/48, the VIP issue has additional blank pages for officials etc to take notes and this programme is signed by 28 swimmers including Bruce Harlan who was the gold medal winner in the Mens Springboard diving and 3 members of the GB ladies 400 metres relay team. Good
1920 OLYMPICS - ANTWERP Postcard with Antwerp Olympics postmark/franking on the reverse, dated 2/9/1920. The football final was played on this day , Belgium were leading Czechoslovakia 2-0 when the Czechs walked off enraged by some of the referees decisions and the gold medal was awarded to Belgium. Good
1924 OLYMPICS- PARIS Uruguay Olympics Soccer Champions medal given by the Uruguayan FA to their players and officials after they won the gold medal at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris. Uruguay beat Switzerland 3-1 in the Final. Silver/bronze medal with the flags of Uruguay and the Uruguay FA on front , legend on front reads "Uruguay World Champions" whilst on reverse legend reads "VIII Olimpiada Stadium Colombes- Paris 1924" with inscription in Spanish. From the collection of Jose Nasazzi who played for Uruguay. Good
A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT ORMOLU EMPIRE STYLE DESK CLOCK with a winged angel standing on a triangular plinth base with lions paw feet, holding a circular clock movement, having leaf work decoration and engine turned gilt dial with Roman numerals and spade-shaped hands. Fronting an 8-day spring driven movement with jewelled platform escapement – the dust cover stamped with retailers mark G.B. Boin Taburet a’ Paris. Boin-Taburet was established in 1873 by the antique dealer George Boin and the jeweller Emile Taburet. The firm was credited with the revival of interest in Louis XV style silver-work in Paris in the late 1880's and awarded a gold medal at the Paris 1889 Exposition Universelle. As well as producing exceptional silver and metal work 24cm high.
Attributed to Walter Gilbert (1871-1946), a Bromsgrove Guild bronze figure of Joan of Arc, modelled standing offering her sword, the base inscribed 'April 1429', and double stamped to the reverse 'Bromsgrove Guild' 27.50cm (11in) Other Notes: Walter Gilbert founded the Bromsgrove Guild of Applied Arts in 1898. The aim of the guild was to allow individuals to work in their own workshops whilst pledging co-operation and mutual support with their fellow artists. The guild expanded throughout Britain but was eventually dissolved in 1966. Everything was individually designed and handmade; larger public commissions included Buckingham Palace gates and under the direction of Sir Gilbert Scott, the bronze work and ornamental plaster figures of Liverpool Cathedral. One of Walter Gilbert's own designs was for a bronze medal of Joan of Arc very similar in style to this statue.

Smith Royal Army Medical Corps including an "On Active Service" book to the 54th Field Ambulance, R.A.M.C Private Smith's name is on page 51; WWII pair consisting of Defence and War Medal; a white metal cigarette lighter dated 1920; commemorative medallion.
A WWI and Later Medal Trio, comprising 1914/15 Star, War and Victory Medals to 62236 Sapper J. Wright, Royal Engineers, in glazed frame with two photographs and a "Leaving The Army" letter; together with a small archive of paperwork and photographs including a letter from one of Sapper Wright's sons dated 1943. John Wright also served in the Second World War and was a founder member of "71 Mess" Fellowship of the Services Association; a Belgian silk cushion cover embroidered 'Ypres', and a humorous figure of Kaiser Bill as a match holder.

A Life Saving "Women's Section" lapel badge. Also a Royal certificate to Mrs Storey and four photographs/postcards.
