British WWII Bronze Star Group of five: 1939 - 1945 star, France and Germany star, Defence Medal and War Medal. Named to Lt 99754 Kenneth Fairley Strathearn Glider Pilot Regiment, Army air Corp. Who took part of the raid at Arnhem and was awarded the Bronze Star by the American Major General Commander under Montgomery. He was killed in action 24th March 1945 and has a copy of his citation included.

The recipient James John Mansfield enlisted in 1938, served on 'D' Day and Arnhem where he was captured. He was sent to stalag Luft 7. He was later forced to march to Stalag luft . After the war he served in Berlin and assisted in the Berlin Air Lift where he was killed during a training flight age 34.
A Charles Swaisland printed wool paisley design shawl, 1860, bearing diamond registration label for January 11th, 1860, the black central field with large boteh repeats on the fringed guard ends borders, 350 by 180cm It is rare to find labelled examples. Charles Swaisland began his calico and silk printing business at Crayford in Kent in 1812 and won a medal at the Great Exhibition of 1851 for the quality of his printing on wool. He died in 1865.
