Who took part of the raid at Arnhem and was awarded the Bronze Star by the American Major General Commander under Montgomery. He was killed in action 24th March 1945 and has a copy of his citation included.

A Charles Swaisland printed wool paisley design shawl, 1860, bearing diamond registration label for January 11th, 1860, the black central field with large boteh repeats on the fringed guard ends borders, 350 by 180cm It is rare to find labelled examples. Charles Swaisland began his calico and silk printing business at Crayford in Kent in 1812 and won a medal at the Great Exhibition of 1851 for the quality of his printing on wool. He died in 1865.
