Military Cross with 1915 Star Trio and MID to Victory Medal, too Lieut F S Jasper RFA (Capt F S Jasper on Pair), MC unnamed as issued. Capt Frederick Stephens Jasper MC was awarded for the action 25/10/1917 East of Pollcapelle. L/G 18/1/1918 and 25/4/1918 for MC. MIDx2 L/G 4/1/1917 and 11/12/1917. MC citation as follows 'For Conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. His battery was destroyed by shell fire, all but one gun. After being reinforced by two guns he lost another by shell fire. For three days he attempted to make a road to get his guns out, but was always prevented by enemy shelling. When the enemy shelled the battery with gas shells in attempting to save his men in the darkness, he was himself gassed'. Lived Masons Hill, Bromley, Kent. GVF (4)

Military General Service Medal 1847 with Sahagun & Benevente clasp. Naming: impressed 'Henry Gander, 10th Hussars'. Confirmed to roll. Medal with many edge bumps, and the reverse has heavy brooch marks. Vendor notes state ' on 7th Aug 1813 a Sgts party proceeding in the direction of St Jean Pied de Port where the French had a strong garrison, were intercepted by a detachment of the enemies infantry which had got in its rear. The Hussars dashed upon this body and forced their passage through, Sgt Gander who Commanded the patrol particularly distinguished himself'.

Toope), and French Croix De Guerre 1914-1918 with palm leaf. Toope appears on the TA Res of Officers List County of London 2/Lieut 31/12/1942. With matching original miniature medal group. Research notes indicate his involvement in Heavy Fighting at High Wood 15/9/1916, was Wounded on the Attack at Eavcourt l'Abbaye (shell wounds right thigh). GVF (3)

RAF group mounted as worn - DFC QE2 dated 1958, AFC QE2 dated 1967, Defence Medal, War Medal, GSM QE2 with Malaya clasp (FG.OFF. C E Slater RAF), CSM QE2 with Borneo clasp (FLT. LT. C E Slater RAF). Plus a loose QE2 RAF LSGC Medal (DIE GRATIA) (named FG. OFF. C E Slater RAF) with a cased MBE (Mily). 1305635 Charles Edward Slater RAF was commissioned as a Master Pilot 25th Aug 1955 L/G 1/11/1955. His DFC was L/G 5/12/1958, was awarded the Queens Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air L/G 10/6/1961, and his AFC was L/G 10/6/1967. Later being given the MBE (Mily) L/G 31/12/1976. Lot includes framed Commendation Certificate, and the Royal Mint cases for the DFC and AFC, and a miniature DFC, AFC, Defence & War Medal, Malaya and Borneo Medals plus the Commendation. The lot also includes eight original Log Books c1943 to 1976 and Uniform with Ribbon bar. Retired as Squadron Leader 5th March 1977. A superb lot (qty)
