Ashantee Medal 1874, no clasp (1753 Pte C Tandy A.S.C. 1873-4), VF. With photocopies and biographical details of recipient: Charles Tandy, born 1841, joined N. Gloucester Militia in 1859 and applied for release to join 73rd Regt that same year. In August 1866 he transferred to Military Store Staff Corps before transferring again to the A.S.C in 1870. In 1873 he was one of 17 ASC Privates to see service in Africa. He was finally discharged in November 1882 £250-350
An Edward VII Royal Army Medical Corps officers sword, by Wilkinson, number 40829 (1906), the bladed etched with Royal Arms, ERVII cypher, scrolls, and initials "A.S.W", gilt brass hilt, with sharkskin grip and leather undress knot, in its plated steel scabbard. Clean condition, the gilt good (small rust spots to the scabbard). Doctor Augustus Scott Williams, Lieutenant R.A.M.C. 1906, Captain 1909, served in France 1914-18, taken Prisoner, awarded the DSO and gold medal of the Order of St John for services at P.O.W. camp Gardelegen in Germany during the typhus epidemic in 1915, was subsequently a GP in Eastbourne. £300-350
Four: Military Medal, George V first type (147206 2 Cpl A Burchell 1/Spec: Coy R.E.); 1914 star with clasp, BWM, Victory (8062 Pte to Sjt A Burchell R.Suss R), VF. MM announced in London Gazette Supplement 9.7.1917, 1914 star with clasp confirmed, recipient discharged 1918 and entitled to silver war badge. This unit worked on Gas and smoke barrages. £300-400
Three: 1914 star, with unattached clasp, BWM, Victory (7983 Sjt G W Parker Oxf & Bucks LI) EF, in fragile remains of original card box, together with WWI Memorial plaque for George William Parker. Sergeant Parker (first date of entry in war on medal card 14th August 1914) was killed in action on 22nd October 1914, aged 28, memorial is at Bedford House Cemetery Zillebeke Belgium. An included small newscutting announcement gives his date of death as 21st November 1914. £150-200
WWII medals: a display of 8 different WWII stars in frame, including Air Crew Europe, the 1939-45 star bears a replica Battle of Britain clasp. St Michael and St George companion medal for Robert Boulter Esq. in a Spinks medal frame, together, with his OBE, King George & Queen Mary 1935 medal and silver George VI and Queen Elizabeth 1937 Coronation medal. Along with matching set of minatures.To include, the framed Grant of Dignity of office for each award.ROBERT BOULTER CMG OBE He was born on 6 April 1885 and after leaving Framlingham College went into the Civil Service. He entered the British Consular Service in Japan in 1907. He was made a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in 1923. He was the Commercial Secretary at the British Embassy in Tokyo from 1925 to 1929, followed by the Trade Commissioner in Singapore from 1929 to 1934, followed by the TradeCommissioner in New Zealand. His final role before retiring was as Economic Adviser to the High Commissioner in New Zealand in 1945. On 1 January 1946 he was awarded the OBE “For services to HM Government in New Zealand during the War.” He died in 1973.
