NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE* within wreath of York roses, minor rim imperfections and wear to the obv. lions passant guardant, otherwise AEF. *William Armstrong, 1st Baron Armstrong FRS was a Victorian engineer, philanthropist and early advocate for renewable energy; his own home at Cragside in Rothbury, Northumberland was the first residence anywhere in the world to be lit with hydroelectric power. This medal was awarded to Armstrong & Co at the first Yorkshire Fine art and Industrial Exhibition which took place between July and October 1886 on the grounds of Bootham Asylum, York. The Exhibition's official catalogue records Armstrong's entry as 'Two Pieces of mounted Field Ordnance'.

McIntee R.F.A., a silver 14th 20th King's Hussars medallion on a necklace hoop, a small military, possibly Irish, silver brooch with a shield depicting a rampant lion under a wreath of crossed arrows, within an open ring of blue enamel and gold dots, a West Nova Scotia Regiment cap badge and a bronze sports medal awarded to O. W. Porritt for 'High Jump and Hop, Skip and Jump, Charney Hall Sports Day May 1896' (5).
