1915 Star named 2.Lieut H S Bloodworth W.Rid.Regt. Later served as a Lieut in the RAF. Medal Card shows service at Galipolli, Mudros, Suvla Bay, Cape Helles. Mentioned In Despatches 22 May 1917. Herbert Sydney Bloodworth was severally wounded in action at Monchy-Le-Preux 25 April 1917 in the face, chest and leg. VF (1)
Distinguished Conduct Medal group - DCM GV (M-20559 Mech:S.Mjr G. A. L. Evans ASC), 1914 Star + Bar (M-20559 Mech:S.Mjr G.A.L. ------ ASC), BWM & Victory Medal + MID (M20559 W.O.CL.1. G.A.L. ------ ASC), and GV Army LSGCM (M-20559 M.S.Mjr G A Evans DCM ASC). His Medal Card shows his surname as 'Schultze' but he later changed it to Evans hence it has been erased from his Trio. DCM L/G 1/1/1918, MID L/G 4/1/1917. DCM citation reads 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of the column workshops. The very high standard of work turned out has been largely due to his personal supervision and untiring energy, and his devotion to duty has set a fine example to all the artificers'. Mons bar confirmed by MIC. Born Ratcliff, East London. (5)
