A 1940's Japanese military Katana, the cloth wrapped (tsuka ito) grip (tsuka) with sword decorations (menuki), bronze guard (tsuba), black lacquered scabbard (saya). The tang (nakago) with signature (mei) denoting SEKI JU MIKAWA KANETSUGU SAKU and made in Seki, together with a star mark. This sword was surrendered to 114715 CAPTAIN JAMES NICOL KIRKWOOD CLARKSON MBE of the Army Dental Corps. The lot also includes a brown leather scabbard / saya tip cover, a leather foul-weather handle cover, MBE medal and ephemera. This serviceman previously worked on "The Death Railway", Kanchanaburi. He cared for the troops' health, particularly their teeth. Ephemera includes claims for kit supplies following a Japanese attack, post-war communications, and a photograph of the bridge he worked to construct whilst captured

A WWI pair of medals to casualty E. T. TRAFFORD. War Medal named LIEUT. E.T. TRAFFORD ENSLINS HSE. He enlisted in to B Squadron, Enslin's Horse, later promoted to Sergeant and served in the GSWA Campaign. The lot consists of 1914 Mons Star trio together with 1914 Brass Princess Mary Christmas tin engraved " Received on behalf of 2nd LT. C.B. GIBBONS ROYAL IRISH REGIMENT FROM H.R.H. PRINCESS MARY" with bullet pencil, original issue boxes and packaging for the medals, WWI medal pair to relative LIEUT. J.M.
