Weilding (1888 - 1951) later promoted to Lieutenant, including a George V For Bravery In The Field medal, British War Medal 1914-1918, Victory Medal and 1914-15 Star, named L-9425 B.O.M. SJT. J.H. Weilding R.F.A., together with related items including Weiding's writing slope bearing his initials, his spurs dated 1917, twelve silk postcards, collection of silk cigarette cards in 1915 King George V tin, War office demob. letter dated 30th August 1920, Gallant conduct note dated 10th March 1916, 1943 dated birth certificate, marriage certificate, and 1951 death certificate and funeral letter. Also two modern printed photos of Weilding in military uniform.

An Unusual WWII and Later Group of Five Medals, comprising Defence Medal, War Medal, Royal Naval GSM with Mine sweeping 1945-51 Bar, General Service Medal with Malaya Clasp and QEII Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to Captain R.T Cosgrove RASC, lot also includes miniatures, dog tags, warrants, release papers, certificate of service among other items. * Records indicate Reginald Thomas Cosgrove was born on 24th March 1927 in Wellington, Somerset, son of John and Lavinia. He joined The Royal Navy, aged 17 on 28th December 1944 serving until 22nd January 1948 under The Service No KX737480. A short period on Civvy Street saw him convicted of driving a bus without a license in 1949, before enlisting in The Royal Army Service Corps on 3rd January 1950 rising to the Rank of Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant by 1965, he saw service at home, Malaya and Singapore, during his time in Malaya he met and married Ethel Maud Games, a Military nurse in February 1953 He was commissioned Second Lieutenant, Royal Army Service Corps on 4th January 1965, making the rank of Captian by 1968. He died while still commissioned on 28th July 1970 at The Military Hospital, Westminster.
Cricket interest: Lawrence 'Lol' Spence - a personal archive of mostly Leicestershire related material, including a scorer's sheet Warwickshire v Durham 1994, signed by Brian Lara; other signed material; Testimonial booklets; Leicestershire CCC yearbooks; press cuttings; photographs; commemorative plates; together with Lol Spence's Silver Championship Medal 1996.Footnote: Lawrence 'Lol' Arthur Spence (1932 – 2017) was a right-handed batsman who bowled leg-break. He made his first-class debut for Leicestershire in 1952 and made further appearances over the next two seasons. He returned to Grace Road as Assistant Groundsman in 1970, taking over as Head Groundsman in 1973, he retired in 1997, the year following Liecestershire's second County Championship. According to Wisden his groundsman's shed remained a refuge for players 'in need of a chat.' The scorer's sheet noted above is significant as this was the match in which Brian Lara recorded the world record score of 501.
