A WWI Military Medal Group of four medals awarded to 218 Sergeant O S Penn MMGS, later promoted to Captain: George V Military Medal, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal, (MID oak leaf), with miniatures and two unrelated ribbon bars, with a commemorative medallion BFSS Nelson Centenary containing victory copper, ER VII, a silver-topped cane engraved O S Penn and a trench art buckle engraved with a tank. Mr O S Penn was part of the team that invented the tank in WWI. After the war, he became an engineer and inventor, setting up his own company Penn Inventions Ltd.
A WWII group of three medals awarded to Lt John McAlister Roberts 194272, 276 Field Coy RE who was killed in action in Southern Tunisia, 28th March 1943: 1939-45 Star, Africa Star (8th Army) and 1939-45 War Medal, together with photographs, newspaper cuttings, War Office letter to Lt Roberts' sister and other items.
