Boxing David Light signed Lonsdale Red Boxing glove. David Light (born 13 November 1991) is a New Zealand professional boxer. As an amateur, he competed in the men's heavyweight division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow where he won the silver medal against Canada's Samir El Mais. And Professionally, Light is a former WBO World Cruiserweight title contender, where he fought Lawrence Okolie in March 2023. Good condition. A London delftware Royal blue dash charger, c.1690-95, painted with a full length standing portrait of King William III, crowned and holding an orb and sceptre, wearing a long ermine robe, flanked by trees, inscribed 'WR3', within a blue dash and yellow border rim, the underside with a buff lead glaze, a faint rim crack, 34.5cm.Provenance: Sir Henry Sutcliffe-Smith (1864-1938) and thence by descent.Sir Henry Sutcliffe-Smith was born in Halifax, the only surviving son of Frederick Smith and Martha Sutcliffe. From school he joined Edward Ripley & Sons, Bowling Dyeworks and followed an illustrious career in the textile industry. A special tableaux he designed for the Brussels Exhibition in 1910 earned three Grands Prix for the worsted industry of Bradford and earned Sir Henry a special diploma and a gold medal from the Belgian government. His career was largely centred around Bradford where he held positions including President of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, President of the Colour Council, Chairman of the Colour Users’ Association, Chairman of the local Conservative Association and Chairman of the Bradford branch of the RNLI. He had a keen interest in art and antiques, putting together a collection at his home at Ingerthorpe Grange, Ripon, that drew the attention of Queen Mary when Sir Henry entertained her at a tea party in 1935. He established a collection of Lord Nelson memorabilia which is housed at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. His love of art led him to become a Fellow of the British Institute of Industrial Art, and of the Royal Society of Arts.

LONDON, Covent Garden, Theatre Royal, Second Theatre, Retirement of John Kemble, 1817, a silver medal by J. Warwick, bust right, rev. thou last of all the romans, etc, edge impressed retired from the stage 23d june 1817, named (Mr John Field), 41mm, 37.30g (W 559; D & W 139/299; BHM 1210 [recté 1817]). Trifling surface marks and rim nicks, otherwise extremely fine and dark-toned, very rare £150-£200 --- Provenance: J. Spencer Collection, DNW Auction M11, 13 July 2011, lot 1021; D. Young Collection John Philip Kemble (1757-1823), second son of Roger Kemble and brother of the actress Sarah Siddons, first appeared on the stage in 1776. He made his debut at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, in 1783, and by 1788 had become its player-manager, a post he held until 1802 when he resigned after a dispute with the theatre’s then owner, Richard Sheridan. In 1803 he became manager of the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, in which he had acquired a sixth share for £23,000, but the infamous fire on 20 September 1808, and the raising of admission prices after the opening of the new theatre in 1809, almost ruined him; he was only saved when the Duke of Northumberland came to his rescue with a generous loan of £10,000, later converted into a gift. Kemble took his final leave of the stage in the part of Coriolanus on 23 June 1817, and died in Lausanne.
