Group comes complete with several items of ephemera including officers service and release book, other named items, photos in flying uniform. The Caird medal sculpture is presented once a year [from 1984 onwards] to the distinguished person giving the Caird lecture at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich and as such are extremely rare. Sir James Caird was one of the most important patrons of the museum and the library is named after him. Kormis sculpted many portraits, several of which are in the National Portrait Gallery and British Museum – he was also a fine figurative sculptor, particularly his prisoner of war memorials. EXTREMELY RARE. [good condition].
