This cigarette case was a 21st birthday present. He carried this case whilst serving with the 51st Highland Division in NOrth Africal, Sicily and the 'D-Day' Landings. Lt Col Eric Wilson VC (1912 - 2008) signed Christmas 1914 Truce in the Trenches cover. Wilson won the Victoria Cross in 1940 in Somaliland with the East Surrey Regiment of the British Army. At the time of his death in 2008 Wilson was the last surviving British Army recipient of the Victoria Cross from WWII. His medal is now on display as part of the famous Lord Ashcroft gallery at the Imperial War Museum in London. Good condition
