He was wounded on Hill 282 in Korea 23rd September 1950. DWR., comprising 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, War Medal, Korea Medal and United Nations Korea Medal, together with a leather and aluminium prisoner of war bracelet stamped STALAG XVIII A Nr. 8900 (6) **Private Lewington was reported missing on The Hook, Korea 29.5.53. He was a wounded prisoner of war and had a leg amputated by the Chinese. He is mentioned by name in the book ``Fortune Favours the Brave``
A Korea Medal 1950-53, awarded to 3655126 RFN.T.WHITE. R.U.R., together with three letters from the Ministry of Defence and Regimental Headquarters (Belfast) dated 1976/1980 **Rifleman Thomas.White of the Royal Ulster Rifles served in North Africa in the Second World War. He was posted to Korea 1.10.50 where he was reported Missing in Action January 1951. His body was later identified by his dog tags. He is buried at the UN Military Cemetery, Tanggok, Korea, Plot (Allied) 24, Row 5, Grave 1744
