WW2 British RAF Bomber KIA medal group to Sergeant Frank Charles Diggle of Nottingham. Comprising of 1939-45 Star, Air Crew Europe Star and War Medal. Complete in original box of issue with award slip, RAF slips, all medals in packets of issue with ribbons. Plus a Silver 1939 Canadian 1 Dollar Coin. Sgt Diggle was a Rear Air Gunner in a Lancaster flying with 550 Squadron RAF. He was killed in a raid to Berlin on the night of Nov 26th/27th 1943. He was not due to fly but took the place of a member of the regular crew of Lancaster LM379 who was sick. WW2 British Arnhem PoW's Medal Group to 6977845 Pte Joseph O'Donnell. Pte O'Donnell was a pre war regular soldier who joined up in 1934 at the age of 18. He joined the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers/Royal Irish Fusiliers seeing service in Palestine, Malaya and India with his Regt. In January 1942 he joined the Army Air Corps in India serving with 151/156 Batl Parachute Regt. In Sept 1942 he transfered to the Royal Signals (Airborne) He took part in OP Market-Garden arriving on the second day. He was taken prisoner on Sept 20th and was freed on 23/4/45. He continued to serve in the reserves until 15/4/48. The following day he rejoined the Army and served with 18th Battl Parachute Regt and later with the Royal Engineers. The group consists of: 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal and War Medal all complete with original ribbons and mounted on a bar: Regular Army Certificate of Service in original envolope: both his wartime and post war AB64 Paybooks: hand made leather wallet possibly obtained in India with tooled Parachute Regt cap badge to front along with his initials, this also contains his post war ID card: Parachute Regt Old Comrades Association Lifetime membership card no2080 along with two Kings Crown Parachute regt lapel badges: Soldiers Release Book Class "A": Stick Commanders' Duties book: 12 photos with pre war, wartime and post war service, which include him wearing his medals, one shows him with others members of his unit with Monty: Programme from 1958 re presentation of new 18th Bn Colours: Field medical card from 21/7/60 while serving with 131 RE, 301 Sqdn due to twisted ankle while parachuting: a selection of post war TA 18th batl training exercise instructions, some marked "Secret": Rifle/SMG Cleaning kit in tin: Brass Morse Code key with plaque in his name "J. WW2 British Royal Navy Medal Group to Jx243944 George Walker comprising of 1939-45 Star, Africa Star and War Medal 1939-45, complete in box of issue with cellophane packets, ribbons and award slip. Along with his post war boxed hallmarked silver National Union of Railwaymen membership lapel badge.
WW2 British RAF Navigators Log book, Service & Release Book and Medals to 1675907 Sgt Horace Street, RAFVR. Comprises of WW2 Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45 and ERII Police Long Service and Good Conduct Medal all mounted on a bar. Also with box of issue, spare ribbons and award slips. Sgt Street served from 14th June 1943 until 30th July 1945. He trained as a Navigator in Canada and his Log book is the RCAF issue. His hours totalled 164 daytime and 118 night time. He flew in Ansons, Oxfords and Wellingtons. Most of his hours were flown in training in Canada. Later hours with 81 OTU. He was demobbed to became a Policeman with Sheffield City Police. New to the market and proceeds to be donated to Oxfam.
