McDonald played in 41 of the 42 games scoring 9 goals as Fulham were winners of Division 2 and promoted to the first Division. The hall-marked gold coloured but probably silver medal has Football League Champions Division 2 and on the reverse is inscribed J.McDonald Fulham FC , Season 1948-49." Southampton purchased Jack McDonald from Fulham in 1952 and initially he was successful in their first team, but he lost form and played most of the season in the reserves winning this medal in the process. During his time at Southampton, Jack made 16 first team appearances scoring four goals. The medal, with case, has The Football Combination Cup Competition on the front and on the reverse has a hall-mark and is inscribed Runners-Up 1952-53. Arsenal won the trophy. Good

Egyptology.- Mariette-Bey (Auguste) Album du Musée de Boulaq, first edition, 40 albumen prints by Emile Béchard and Hippolyte Délié mounted on thick card leaves (photographs c. 250 x 190mm.), some light spotting to mounts and text, title creased and reinforced at upper and lower edges, a few other leaves repaired at edges, original morocco-backed blind-stamped cloth, spine gilt, g.e., rubbed, folio, Cairo, Mourès & Cie., 1871.⁂ Important photographic record of the first Egyptian public museum, founded by Auguste Mariette in 1858 in a former warehouse on the banks of the Nile. Unfortunately the river flooded in 1878 damaging the museum and the contents were moved in 1892 to a palace in Giza and then again in 1902, to the current museum in Tahrir Square in central Cairo. The magnificent photographs by Béchard and Délié of Egyptian statuary, funerary artefacts, sarcophagi etc. won a Gold Medal at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1878.
